Rancher Footwells

New member here with my first post. I recently bought a 2014 Rancher, Manual Shift, and don’t understand the thinking behind the foot wells. Why is it made with a hole behind the foot peg? Obviously there needs to be space in front of the pegs to shift and depress the brake but I see no good reason for it behind. Initially, I thought I wouldn’t mind it too much since I’m used to riding motorcycles where the foot peg is all there is but I’ve also had plenty of experience on other ATVs with a filled-in foot well area. The added stability and comfort from not needing to balance on the small peg is very nice. I ended up removing the pegs and welding some square tubing and 1" flat steel together to fill the space in.

Does anyone out there like Honda’s design?

$.99 Ebay Auctions for Motoalliance Products

Hey Gang,

We like to run some fun auction promotions on Ebay. Most of them started at just $.99. They generate a lot of activity and interest and usually offer some nice discounts when they end.

Take a look at our SIRIUS and SIRIUS PRO lights, IMPACT Implements, various accessories and, of course, our VIPER winches — including our all-new 6,000lb VIPER MAX winch!

My 14 Rancher

To be Honest, I wanted a Foreman, use to have one and loved it. But found a deal on this used Rancher. Guy rolled it on its side and I think scared him. Only issue I found was the rear rack is bent and the plastic broke away from the rack on that side. No other damage. Had some oil in the airbox too. Ended up picking it up for $4500 with a rear seat. Sold the seat so only had $4350 in the ATV. It’s a foot shift with 400 miles on it.

Started making some changes on it. So far I’ve added a 3500lb Viper "midnight" series winch, ss212 wheels and 26" STI Black Diamonds. Also added a 12v accessory plug but I’m waiting on the Honda plug for it. Got a Boss AT20 audio tube (not pictured) that I’ll install once the plug is wired in. Eventually gonna add a front bumper and rear storage box.

2014+ Bumpers

Has anyone found any bumpers they really like for the 2014 newer Ranchers? I ride a lot in tight wooded trails and would like to get something to protect the front end better than the stock bumper.

What does ES stand for in Rancher ES

About 1 hour ago I picked up a 2013 420 rancher ES with 49 miles…. Showroom new. I see rancher and rancher ES What is the ES? Is one better than the other? I have always been a polaris rider, but now in the Honda family.( along with the wife’s 300ex.

What’s the ES?

Thanks.

Installed HMF Exhaust On My 350

Odered this package from ATVGALAXY on ebay, consisted of HMF polished slip on, HMF basic jet kit, and a UNI air filter. Install was straight forward, I went with the 142 main jet as per HMF instruction. Rejet was easy, loosened the clamps holding the carb on to the engine and then removed the carb bowl by removing four screws. Removed the stock 130 main jet from the center of the carb with a flat head screw driver and reassembled.

The thing I dont like about the pipe is the way it sticks out the back of the bike, its long imo. I’d be afraid of hitting the pipe while backing up or dragging the tip off the ground during an aggressive wheely:)

I knew from the start I was going to cut it down to shorten it up. I drilled out the rivets to take the pipe apart and proceeded to cut about 1.2 inchs out of the can which just brought it to the end of the HMF logo plate. Here’s the after.

The pipe sounds good, from the short ride around the yard there is a small increase in punch as its easier to loft the front end up. Still too much snow out in the woods to really test it out, but soon.

need rear rack for 01 rancher. what years will fit?

broke the brackets that hold the back of the rear rack attached. One was cracked, but riding this spring took its toll on the cracked one, then stressed out the other one yesterday.

Found a couple of used one on ebay. One is from an 03 and the other is from an 05. Which one will fit. Both sellers said both will. I am pretty sure the 03 will, however the 05 is in better shape.

thanks for input.
