I’m a brand new ATV rider….mine is a 2015 Rancher 4×4 ES. I am planning a trip "off road" soon, and would like to know what miles or hours I can expect from a tank of gas. I am used to measuring this on a motorcycle or car, such as 30 mpg, 50 mpg, etc. But I don’t know if that’s appropriate for an ATV.
I plan to be riding on gravel and dirt roads, not rutted, muddy trails, at least on my first trip. The roads do not have a lot of elevation variation(west TN). I suspect I’ll ride maybe 20 miles that first trip, but that’s a guess. I suspect I will NOT need to bring any additional gas with me, but thought it prudent to ask here. I suspect I will be riding around on those roads for 3 hours or so…..

I have a Honda 2007 Rancher 400 fa; I have had trouble with bad connections because of constant high water riding.
Finally the 12 error code on the ecm is fixed and now the 4wd light blinks a 5 error code.
I have gone through the repair manual steps but I am not sure about my OHMs reading. The book says a reading between 5.1 – 5.8 68 F
/ I have 6.9 at 90 F am I in range or out of range.
Is there some other test I can do to see if the clutch is getting power or to send power to the clutch?
Thank you for your help
OH!! I am getting 11.95 volts dc at the green connector under the front coming from the ecm

Ok guys, I have a 2013 420es rancher with 53 miles, never seen rain, mud, and sits in a heated and air conditioned garage… So no abuse at all, it is showroom new. Use it to pull my trailer around the yard..anyways you get the point…not abused.
Shifting is horrible at best, push button to shift to second,,,,nothing! Push it again nothing… Sometimes the 3rd time it will shift. Second does the same thing. Shifting is also very hard, nothing smooth about it shifting when it does shift. In the months I have owned it, I put 4 miles around the yard. I bought it with 49 and last owner used it just like me..not even water spots on it.
What should I check first? I knew this electric shift was going to be trouble.went against my better judgment….love the Honda, hate the ES.

Our one ATV isn’t enough, and it will only get worse when we move to the acreage. Can’t decide do I drop the money on a UTV or do I just buy a second ATV. UTV would be nice for hauling firewood and allow me to carry more chemical when spraying. Not to mention I wouldn’t have kids sitting on the racks as we drive to the ponds to fish. ATV is more nimble, easier to store, and I wouldn’t have to widen the trails through the woods.
A new Rancher foot shift 4×4 they want 5900 OTD
Foreman same configuration they want 6700.
Pioneer is up around $10k
Thoughts? My Rancher isn’t in danger of going anywhere. I checked trade in value and its only $3500.
I recently bought my wife an 01 rancher that needed some work and ive got it all fixed up and back in nice shape but the reverse wont work. I put a new cable on and it will not shift. I have read that the reverse switch on the bottom of the motor is the likely culprit but i cant find one anywhere. The digital dash is also busted i have one coming. All other gears are fine shifts up and down smooth just does nothing at all when you try for reverse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
