How to remove MFD on 2015 Rancher?

So I need to adjust my handlebars, but the MFD is in the way of the bolt plate. How do I remove the MFD enough to get to them? Is it that bolt on the left side? Sorry no pic, but I can’t find an available service repair manual for it yet…must be too new?

420rancher manual shift

Hey guys and gals I have a 420 rancher 2008 manual shift but it not shifting right some time you got to shift it twice to get it into reverse and 1st. then you got to shift it 2 or 3 times to get it back to the neutral. any help will be appreciated.

2004 rancher AT display settings ?

So I was able to make a trade on a sitting 2004 rancher at . the bike was sitting in a trailer for the past three years and didn’t move . well I put a new peacock valve ,carburetor , battery.after doing all that my bike wouldn’t shift correctly . so I brought it to my local shop and they replaced the ECM to fix the shifting issues bc it wouldn’t go out of first gear . so after getting it out of the shop I go riding a couple times and I am noticing the following issues . when I am riding 30 mph and above the "D" goes to a" — ". But still runs and acts normal . when I go below 30 or 35 it goes back to the D. Any ideas ?

Also what are the functions of the display or what are the options that I can scroll through or need to know about the display ?

Has anyone noticed just how much smoother the gear changes are in the 420 compared to the 500 rubicon?
Why is this? I think it spoils the rubicon machine as it would be great if it was as smooth as the 420!

Hello all,

I’ve been sitting back and going through the forums but maybe I may have missed this;

Has anyone used Lucas 10w40 ATV/UTV "semi-synthetic" oil in your machines?
I’ve been doing some digging and I’ve read good things about it.
The specs say it has superior wet clutch protection but I’ve only met one other ATV rider who is using it, "but" they reallly like it.

I was going to use the Valvoline ATV oil but now I’m looking at synthetic or a semi… My local Napa has the Lucas oil at hand and at a reasonable price, but for good protection I really don’t care if it’s pricy.

Any thoughts please?

01 Rancher 350 Front Differential

Just got an 01 Rancher 350 that had a broken front case mounting lug
I wanted to see if the 04-06 350 Rancher Differential will fit
I know the part number is different but was hoping it was because maybe they improved the case…
Anyone seen the front mounting lug break before? Not sure why, but did see a couple others online with same issue.
I also had my shift drum end pin broken (neutral switch side) and am replacing it with an 04 drum with the beefier 16mm lug
Anyways let me know and thanks in advance

My first ATV – Rancher 420 F5 (no EPS)

So I finally pulled the trigger and bought my first ATV. Happy to say I bought a Honda Rancher. I’ve owned Honda products most of my life (cars, motorcycle, lawn mowers, etc.), and figured I couldn’t go wrong. I know there’s lots of competition in the ATV market, but for the deal I got on the outgoing 2015 models, I couldn’t pass it up.

It’s the FA5 model, which has the AT DCT, ES, and the feature I really wanted: IRS. It’s finished in Phantom Camo because I’m using it for trail-riding, hunting, and fishing, and want the stealthy appearance. I’m topping it off with some Kolpin accessories (TrailTec Deluxe Cargo bag and Ratcheting Rhino grips for my bow/guns) and possibly splurging on a Yutrax 4-wheel (tracking axle) trailer. I think I’ve done my homework well, but if there’s anyone who owns one of these (even earlier models that may share some things in common with the 2015) and has some advice or whatever, please share. I have this tool that gets me out of a stuck gear?? I’m assuming this is because of the ESP (not EPS) shifting and a lack of foot clutch? I think I fully understand it, but when does it tend to get most stuck? Should I keep it in ESP mode all the time? I haven’t been able to do much riding yet, so I’m not sure what I’m in for when it comes to the potential shifting difficulties. Guess I just want some advice in order to minimize using this tool to get into gear (or neutral, as it were).

Any other advice, please send it my way. Not doing anything crazy with it (yet) like mudding or going into water (I know about snorkel kits). I want it to last me a lifetime. 🙂
