Hi guys, I’m in the market for a new utility quad and I’m considering a Rancher 4×4 EPS with foot shift for working around the house, trail riding, and potentially plowing snow. It would be ridden in cold crappy weather here in MI. Is it difficult to operate the foot shift with huge, cold weather type boots on? I have yet to see a foot shift Rancher in person so I thought I’d ask you guys.
I don’t want the ES version for a couple different reasons and also don’t want to spend the cash for a DCT tranny.
Just wondering. Several months back I bought a 2008 ES with only 17 miles on it. Since then I have put about 200 more miles on it just around the property and love it. Yes, I get some clunky shifts and the occasional non shift that seem to be the main source of complaints with these machines. I’m about to get it rigged up for winter plowing duty. I will be changing out the shift motor grease as mentioned on this forum. I will also change the oil to a high quality synthetic as recommended. But, a lot of the ES problems seem to fall back to less than needed battery power. Is there a heavy duty, properly sized unit available?
I took off the snorkel the previous user had installed. and I am trying to figure out exactly how to put the factory air intake tube back in.
I downloaded a service manual but can’t seem to find that detail. It looks like I will have to maybe take off the front plastic to do so? I was hoping not.
The factory air tube goes up along the fuel tank and seems to have a piece on the end that should connect to some shroud? it is teed off and open on both sides.
can someone lend some insight or maybe even a picture of what this should look like. thanks
Hey guys I was wondering what all tires would be good for all around riding mostly in mud/trail I’ve been looking at the zillas and the vampires but didn’t know if there is anything else out there that’s a good tire and im trying to go with the biggest tire I can…Will be doing exhaust and jet kit here soon if they’ll help with power? or would I need to do a gr? thanks in advance

This is my first ATV rebuilding project (2006 Honda Rancher 350 ES) and I have found several small rubber hoses not connected to anything. I have rebuilt several car motors before and every time you had a disconnected hose, you had a vacuum leak. The shop manual talks about breather tubes and I have found what appears to be ports on the carburetor that should have something connected. Does anyone know where I can find a hose diagram that shows the locations of connections?
I’m having an intermittent issue where I’ll turn the key on and the screen will light up and then as soon as I try to start it, the screen goes blank with no power. After that happens, I can’t get any power to the screen. The battery is brand new w/12.6 volts and I’ve checked the connections with no luck. I did hear a low whining/hissing sound in the battery compartment when I turned the key on, but really couldn’t tell what is was coming from and is was very faint. The green light will flicker if I turn the key rapidly, but won’t stay powered up.
I bought a new irs rancher and was hoping the rear suspension was like my 91 king quad.the rancher doesn’t have true irs compared to my king quad.why would they ruin a great set up?does any one know why even Suzuki didn’t stay with the set up in the rear?it has a suspension like a rock crawler and works so much better than my new honda
