03 660 Grizzly
I pulled my secondary (and primary) last night and the both have scalloped (wavy) ridges on them. I’m sending the primary to coop so he will fix that. My real question is can I safely take any material off both secondary sheaves without gettin myself into heap of trouble? Normally I’d just replace it but I found out I need a front diff rebuild on top of the primary work. I don’t think it’ll be more than 1m needing to be removed.
Thoughts, opinions, experiences welcome!!
Cheers,

First Timer here…
I recently purchased a 2009 Special Edition 550 Grizzly that had been used extremely little. I’ve had it out several times in the last few months and it’s ran perfectly. This weekend it began missing (almost like it was against a rev limiter but was not at high rpm) only when it was in 4 wheel drive. Then it would run fine in 2 w/d. I checked it again last night at home and it did the same thing…only did it in 4 w/d. Two weeks ago it ran fine in 4w/d. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I have a 1999 Grizzly 600 and I recently replaced the belt and took off the primary and then put it out back together and now I have oil spraying out of the clutch case and the bolt comes off, that I toured on to proper spec. Any help would be awesome.
Been a bit since I have posted on here. Need some advice. I let a friend ride my 07 700 for a few days and during that time it quit running. I learned that it was not getting any spark, so it was diagnosed and the stator and crankshaft sensor were replaced due to a bad spot on the harness. After that repair was done, I test rode the bike and found it had problems shifting out of reverse. Like bad problems. Bike had to be backed up for extended distances just to get it out. It also feels like it has a lot more engine breaking than before. In Low, High, and sometimes reverse gear, it will make a grinding/chattering noise on deceleration as well. It does not do the noise when in neutral and revved up.
This machine has already had the reverse gear upgrade done, so I do not believe that is the issue, although it is possible. There was some very small metal shavings on the magneto, but I was told that is usually from the starter clutch starting to deteriorate…most likely from my friend attempting to start the bike numerous times when it lost spark. I had zero shifting or transmission problems prior to him operating it (not blaming him), I just had know clue if it was a gradual thing or just all at once over the two days he rode it.
Thoughts??? Wet clutch a possibility? I hate to have to split the cases again!

Hi guys, Im new to the Yamaha world. I had a honda rancher and traded it in on a 2014 Grizzly 700 and it great more power and handles like a dream. I have been reading the forms and there is alot of talk about shims for ur clutch, my question is can ya just put the shim in or do ya have to put the sping in aswell? I do alot of trail riding with rocks, roots and stumps and if we come across some water or mud, well lets just say we dont go around it.lol Any help would be great, this question has probable been asked in the past. Thanks again
my freind want to put an after market exhaust on is 2013 grizzly 700 , not a complete exhaust just a slip on, will he need a fuel controller or just bolt on the exhaust will be fine??will he run to lean?
Hi just bought a grizzly and apparently the guy I bought it from didn’t fill the diff up after he did some work. First ride out completely shredded it. Busted the case and all. Anyone have a used diff in good shape for sale. Kinda hurting for money after just buying this thing so any help appreciated.
So, I’m the proud owner of a new griz and I have ordered a set of Outlaws. 28×9.5-12 for the front and 28×12.5-12 for the rear. 1.25" lug. I have a shim kit coming that has 2x 1mm, a .5mm and a .2mm. Being as my bday is coming up, my bro ordered an EPI mudder clutch kit (0-3000′, 28-29.5" tires), and my girlfriend ordered the EHS Big 3 kit for the ’14+ grizzly’s.
Now for my question. I run medium mud/muskeg and pretty fast trails with lots of hills. What size shims would be a good starting point to try at first? Will I likely over rev on the flat parts of the trail?
