Code 42 help please
So I’m new to grizzlys and to this site but I have some questions I traded my machine for a 2012 Grizzly 700 EFI I want to build a new mud machine. I get the thing home right after trading it now has a check engine light and is showing code 42 I down loaded a manual and it seems cryptic to figure out how to erase the code. I tried to ride it at 20+ mph and that didn’t help. Machine runs good just no speedo.any help would be great

xt 600 vs grizz 600
so i am waiting for my head gasket to arrive and was comparing parts, i am putting xt 600 head and cam, and hopefully carb and air box on my grizzly, i needed a new head and this one was way cheaper with all the extras like carb, exhaust, air box…everything needed bolt on from xt…xt 600 is rated at 45 hp according to mcs and my old grizz stock is less then 40(660 is supposed to be 40 so i assume less then that)…so i figured i would swap everything chasing more hp…heads are virtually identical, lift on cam is identical, duration looks same too, however timing is def different because sprockets do not line up to each….when bolt holes are same teeth are in middle of each other, however cams also look like they are indexed different to bolt holes, so might actually be the same….and aside from that crazy two barrel carbwith individual intake runners from head where can this extra hp be coming from….both reported an 8.5:1 comp but xt making atleast 5 hp more…10 % is allot…my question to all you xt 600 gurus out there is what is different? and i know i am not the first one to do this swap so anyone else do it and notice the hp increase….or is it not worth doing the carb swap too, looks like allot of headaches setting it up…..thanks for any info

grizz 600 re use head gasket
so about to slap it all back together as its been apart the past two years but want to re-use one of my head gaskets…purchased it 4 yrs ago after dealership did work to it and replaced head gasket during service…rode one season and cam skipped a few teeth taking out valve, rebuilt head and put about hour of run time back on it with aftermarket gasket and starved head of oil because of clogged pickup screen seizing cam in head…now after sitting apart for about 2 yrs I am finally putting it back together and want to re use one of my head gaskets….I always thought I could re-use these aluminum gaskets if not bad, one oem yammy, and one aftermarket with about 1 hour run time, both appear to be fine but what it the opinion on re using head gaskets on these bikes, i have read to spray it with copper coat and re use in which case i will use oem as it seems to be a better gasket…here are some pics of both black one oem…i really don’t want to drop the 100 bucks for new one at my local dealer and wait time….thanks for your input

grizz 600 head questions?? worth polishing?
hey everyone I am finally getting around to fixing my grizz 600…seized cam from lack of lubrication because of pluged screen, looked like paper fibres either from oil filter breaking down or from left piece of shop towel left inside motor somewhere after head rebuild from cam jumping a few teeth….so had found all parts from xt, head, cam, carb, and exhaust…might try to get couple extra hp that the bike had…some silght head differences like manual decomp switch, extra vent port…all motor internals seem fine and only thing that suffered was cam and head…didn’t ride that far when shut down bike, then couldn’t pull over by hand and towed back….gonna start by changing head, cam, and y pipe as it appears to flow better, then is I can stuff that crazy carb in there I will try that too, but just curious if its worth taking head apart and polishing up the casting imperfections in it? will this improve anything or am I beating a dead horse?? they look like they would flow well enough and the limiting factors are else where?? any input is appreciated…thanks

Grizzly 700 bogs in water
My 700 likes to bog down and seem like it has no power in water and mud. every one of my friends that have tuned grizzly scream in water and mud. And mine doesn’t… Why?
Oxygen sensor location?
Tried to get a wideband O2 reading today by sticking the sensor in the exhaust outlet but didn’t get a good reading (usually works on cars with more cylinders). I guess the one cylinder sends the exhaust in strong pulses so I need to locate the sensor closer to the engine.
Can I get a reading by welding a bung in the second to last chamber in the muffler?
