4×4 problems

Hi everyone,

I’ve got a 2009 Yamaha Grizzly 700. The other day I put it into 4×4 and went through something pretty easy, nothing bad. Get out to the other side and hit the button to disengage 4×4 and it won’t go away on the display screen. I also do not hear the motor disengaging or engaging it when I hit the button. I’ve checked the fuse and it seems to be good. Any other suggestions? Possible relay or actuator problem?

Engine break problem?

Hey yall so I took my grizzly for a spin the other day and I noticed when I let off the gas it was like it was in neutral and just free rolled the engine didn’t slow it down none, but then when I tried it again the engine would hold it but the next time I gave it gas back to the same roll does anyone know what this is? Has this happened to you? What caused it and what do I need to do to fix it? Thanks.

Exhaust slip on

Right now I have a stock muffler and 2r tip. I’ve been thinking of getting a new slipon. I’ve seen a lot of opinions on Barker and two bros but cost and noise is a concern. HONESTLY….. Will a slip on make that much of a difference? I’ve been a licensed Aircraft mechanic for 35 years and know my way around a car or truck BUT…….I’m very new to the ATV game. I’ve installed headers, low flow mufflers etc. on a few different types of vehicles. A lot of noise, (a cool sound when I was younger) but as far a HP and fuel gains???? just want to know…. Is it worth the money.

Belt sits low in secondary.

I have an 02 Grizzly 660. I am running 28" Zillas and just did the 2mm shim to the primary.

Since putting it back together the belt sits about a 1/2” below the top of the sheaves. Is this normal? Top speed is around 40-45mph. I used to see 60mph+ with the stock tires.

I don’t feel an improvement in low end power from the shims.

Any help appreciated

08 700 having issues…help!

Ok..so I have to say that the Grizzly has NEVER given me any issues whatsoever. Until today. lol
So a few things I should mention, not sure if they matter. Its been very hot in Ohio lately, 100% humidity and the Grizz’s home is in a barn. Decent size.
I thought I’d take it for a ride this afternoon and she fired right up, took her out the road to my buddys house, sat around for awhile and then I brought her home and played around in the field for a few minutes. On my way back up through the yard, I was coming up the hill at about 3/4 throttle and when I got to the top, it fell on its face. It took me several restarts just to get it the 50 feet back to the barn. If you start it and let it idle, it will only idle about 30 seconds before it dies. put it in gear and whenever you hit the gas, it bogs out and dies again. I checked the plug wires, had the plug out a few weeks ago and it looked fine. Went for a ride a few weeks ago and it was fine. air filter looks fine, just cleaned it. Took it out just to eliminate it from the equation and it did the same thing.
It sounds like its not getting enough air and choking out or its not getting enough fuel?

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. I can’t think of what else it could be out of the blue like that.

It wouldn’t be the humidity would it?

660 Chinese Carburators

I have a Grizzly 660 and was wondering if anyone has comments on the after market Carburetors that are sold on ebay and other sites. Has anyone had luck with them or should I just rebuild my old one? Does anyone have any tips on the rebuild? Thanks Glenn in Maryland

Primary clutch service

We have an 09 550 Grizzly in the family, it has over 7,500 miles, still on the original belt and nothing has be done to the primary and secondary clutches. When and what should be done for service? As far as we can tell, it still shifts like it did when it was new.
