Run engine out of oil what needs replacing?

So my Grizzly mysteriously had no oil when I went to ride it, engine lost power and died about 10 minutes into a ride. No signs of a leak on engine… no oil spot where it was parked.. and I’ve never seen it smoke. I just rode the previous day, and just checked the oil within the last week, I’ve never had a problem with oil. But it happened… Sooo… When I turn over the engine it sounds of a horrible metal on metal screeching/scraping sound. What parts would you say are bad? Cylinder and Piston obviously. But what else? Rod bearing? Crank bearing? Just junk it and buy a replacement? Anyone need parts? LOL.

Huge backfire on 660 Grizzly now no start

I recently bought a 2004 660 Grizzly for my son, after bringing it home he took it for a ride and it backfired very loud through the exhaust and now it wont start. It turns over and there is a clinking noise on the clutch side as the motor turns over.

I’ve checked the carburetor mounting flange and it looks fine as I’ve seen some bikes were the carb blows out of its mount.

I’d like to get it running again, what should I check next?

600 grizz back to not starting, help!!!!!!

Well i thought it was working fine, but i seem to be having a problem starting the grizz.

2001 Grizzly 600

So here’s what has happened

Got the grizz all put back together and the only thing left to do was add some air to the two front tires, drove the bike about 50 ft around the car to get to the other side of the garage to my air compressor and while it was idling it stalled and i have not been able to get it running since —except for ONCE about a day later while the bike had sat it started and ran for about 30 seconds and then once again stalled and has not started, it just keeps turning over.

I know the electrical is good, the battery is fully charged, the plug is literally brand new on it, and the gas is brand new and coming out of the gas line. The carb has just been cleaned by a small engine guy who knows his stuff pretty good, or at least i had hoped so lol!!!!

I’m wondering if it might have something to do with the float bowl thingy inside?? could it possibly be sticking??

Also while the bike was first idling it was idling a bit fast, and therefore would not go into gear without a big clunk and i didn’t want that to happen so i adjusted the thumb screw thing on the side of the carb to slow it down a bit…could this be an issue??? if so how do i know how to readjust it back to a normal proper setting??????

Any thoughts or ideas would be most appreciated, i was so happy that the grizz was rurally running, and now it seems that’s not the case grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

CAN’T FREAKIN’ WAIT UNTIL I CAN AFFORD A NEW BIKE WITH EFI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wet Belt? Grizzy 660

I have a grizzly 660 that is new to me, but I think its an 06 model. Runs perfect as far as cranking, idling, riding down the road.

Today while duck hunting it stalled in high water and I noticed there was no plug in the bottom of the air box. We were miles and miles from any help and since the engine was not submerged, we tipped it on its rear for a bit to drain and then cranked it and it is running perfect as far as engine.

However, the belt (or clutch?) is now slipping. Give it gas and once you are past 1/4 clutch everything just revs but no power to the wheels. It is snorkled and one of the snorkles did blow some white smoke which smelled like burned water.

do the Grizzly’s have a sealed belt system that got water in it? Or is it a coincidence and the belt probably just needs to be replaced from normal wear and tear?

I need to expect this bike to perform well in high water on a regular basis, so if this is to be expected regularly I may have to sell.

Thanks for the help
