Looking at turbo kits and came across there’s. Opinions? Anyone running them.
For a xp1k. They are running a special and it’s looking better and better.
I asked for a BOV and here is what K&T did for me. This thing is awesome and sounds pretty cool when you quickly let off the gas. I added this out of caution and probably did not need it but peace of mind is a great thing to have when your out in the desert on your own.
I have also added a heat shield here in addition to the turbo and exhaust headers all having thermotec wrap and a turbo blanket installed. I am still searching for the best type of hose for the boost control as I melted yet another hose, this one attached directly to the outlet/pressure side of the turbo. I have some silicon hose that I will install and probably I will convert the one line just after the compressor wheel to AN -4 line that goes to the AEM True Boost controller. My Gale Banks twin turboed big block chevy that I built for my old boat had all AN lines.
Have a 14 1000, turboed with a PC-5 and an Autotune. It’s been running awesome then out of the blue it’s running terrible. Sometimes I can get it run ok at 10lbs of boost but anymore and it appears to go lean. Sometimes it goes full lean, off the charts and won’t run at all. the Next time it will pop and fart and the A/F will bounce around from 12 to 16.
I’ve changed the Autotune O2 sensor, checked all wire plugs, fuel pressure holds steady at 55lbs, tried to run without Autotune. Changed plugs etc. Could the PC-5 have just quit compensating? I’m assuming it’s just not getting fuel but don’t know where to start. Have to get this running, thanks in advance for any help. Dan

Anyone running this on a boosted 900 or 1000? Needing to see what people setups are. I got suggestions/ starting point from Nate, but it seem very light.
OK, probably a really dumb question but I have now replaced the O-rings in the billet intake and carefully re-installed all the parts I had to remove to get to those O-rings and the motor will not make boost in the garage. Although the O-rings that I removed had some wear, I am now not sure they were the problem. I have run it up to 3000 rpm and no boost. I have used a separate mechanical boost gauge to confirm. Should I see boost develop?
I have checked and rechecked connections. Exhaust headers show zero signs of any leaks at the motor all the way up to the turbo flange. The turbo itself spins freely although it did have a puddle of oil in the intake side just after the compressor wheel and the inside of the intercooler had oil residue throughout. Compression checks at 131# and 121#. The wastegate actuator arm was removed and the gate moves freely and you can hear it hit the stops. When attached, the arm holds the gate closed, although I have not inspected from the inside. Motor has 34 hours and RZR has 541 miles.
So much talk of how much BOOST can I run on this kit that kit. Head shim, stock Pistons, rods ect…
I want to know the "limits" of a fully built XP engine. 1k or 900 base doesn’t matter. What is the weak link? Blowing headgaskets? Throwing a rod? Breaking crank? Let’s hear it! If it’s still ticking let’s hear some success..
– how much power you making?
Not dynoed,
-How much boost, nitrous you throwing at it?
– what fuel?
-What controller you using for engine management?
-anything unique done to the engine other then the "norm"? IE.. Higher compression then 9:1 on boost, balance shaft delete?
Share as much info as you would like about your build and some abuse you have put it through. Or if you have secrets you don’t wish to disclose then PM me! Haha!
These kits are back in production by DW Performance ( dave Phillips ) who designed and built the kits at api . the kits come in 2 stages, what makes these kits unique is the standalone aem infinity ecu ,and the adapter harness that plug in to your stock harness. along with a borg warner EFR turbo, both kits come complete and with dw performance tuned ecu. for more info call dave at 435 773-3683 my kits are shipping this week I will post some pics when they arrive
OK, maybe I have figured out one of my problems with the RZR just not running well and getting richer and richer. I just noticed at Idle there is .00 showing on my AEM Boost Gauge/Controller. What is the normal vacuum reading I should expect to see at idle? Thank you
