Do I need a clutch kit

I have a 2013 RZR S LE. I read through the long detailed clutch kit thread on here. I recently put on some new tires on my RZR and have noticed a huge loss in power and top end. I put them on right before winter and did not notice it as much in the snow due to most of the time being in low range. This summer however is my 1st summer with these tires vs my factory bighorns and I noticed a huge drop in acceleration. I now have about a 52mph top speed where last summer by the speedometer on my RZR I had no problem going 65-72mph somewhere in that range depending on the wind.

I at first thought maybe a worn belt due to my current belt having 2000 miles so I replaced the belt, cleaned the clutches, cleaned the new belt with soap and installed. Then broke in in 2 15 minute heat cycles starting in low and then working to high gear varying throttle constantly and speed and staying below 3/4 throttle. After that I opened it up and found that it was a little faster than with my old belt but still topped out around 52mph. I checked the speedometer on the RZR as well because these tires were a hair taller than my big horns. I was side by side with my father in his teryx with his digital speedometer that is on and mine matches right up to his speed so I would guess that the speedometers on both machines are not off by that much. And I know I can’t be going much more than 50 because he can almost keep up I just slowly pull away and his is governed at 49mph. And we used to race and it was a drivers race 0-49 depending on traction and the jump and he just blows my doors off now.

I replaced the factory tires with Innova Mud gears. The front is a 26×10 and the rear is a 26×12. I know these have a more aggressive lug on them than the big horns and are slightly heavier. Fronts unmounted say 27lbs and rears 33lbs. According to the specs I found my front maxxis weighted 23lbs and the rears 30lbs.

I figured I would lose some speed and top end but as much as I did seems crazy. The rest of the machine is the same and it is still in good running condition the air filter has about a month of riding and it has not been super dusty so it should not be a restricted air filter causing a lack of power.

I am just curious if getting a clutch kit for a bigger/heavier tire would help. Right now it just seems to be almost bogged down in a sense.

EDIT: I just want to know in people’s minds who have re clutched for a factory sized tire that is a bit heavier have you been happy or does it not seem worth the pain and hastle to do? I know that I added roughly 14lbs rotating mass which is a huge amount of weight so I just want to know if re clutching would at least make the machine a fair amount closer to the stock power feel and gain me back some top end. I can’t seem to hit rev limiter on top out now which I am sure is attributed to the heavier more aggressive tire.

Thanks.

Front Differential Help

I need some help on my 2013 RZR S Front differential. I had a boot get torn and upon inspection I found that both front axles if I grab the axle where it goes into the front diff and wiggle there is significant play on both sides. I can’t imagine that the splines are wore out on the axles. I am guessing something is worn on the inside of the front differential. I noticed that it must be leaking out the drivers side because I can see fluid residue on the side of the differential.

I have not had much chance to look at it but it has so much play that I can get the cv boot clip to touch my A Arm so I am guessing that is what tore the boot. Now I looked just quickly at a parts breakdown and it looks like the hubs ride inside something inside the differential is that what is likely worn? I am just trying to get a rough idea before I tear into it.

I have the service manual at home to help me in the tear down and rebuild if necessary.

Clutch? This thing is driving me…..

Okay, So my ride is finally running…

TPS is sitting @ a beautiful .738 @ 1250 RPMs. In Neutral I can give the RZR gas all the way to the Rev limiter (I believe around 6500 RPMs?). The engine is smooth as hell and the UTVinc 60 AMP Alt. Kit has done perfect in Bypassing my "too lazy to remove engine & replace Stator attitude". Besides it keeps me at a steady 13v at 2-3k in RPMs..

Most of you know Im running the 800 w/
MCX Turbo
CP Pistons 8:5:1
Web Cam
Hotrods T/P/W Crank~ (Trued, Pinned, & Welded Upgraded Crank for Turbo)
Air to Water Intercooler
STM Clutch Rage III
27" Executioner Tires 10"Front 12"Rear

I just flat out cannot remember the clutch settings or what they should be (or were). But as soon as I get to about 4200-4400 RPMs the RZR is cutting out? Even a bit of popping? Feels like?? I don’t get it as I don’t believe I messed w/ the clutch since the crank twisted & In neutral Its clean all the way to Rev Limiter..

Need advice..

BTW it runs fine till I get past that RPM mark.. UPDATE 2: In gear (driving) #2 when this happens I am not hitting the rev limiter?
