Looking for Northren Tennessee or West Virginia best ride for me

Hey all I know there are some other post on this, but I can’t find what I’m needing in a search. Planning on going to northern Tennessee or West Virginia around Thanks Giving. What are your best recommendations for a place to ride. I like some dirt trails, but also like some decently rocky trails and technical stuff. If West Virginia looking at Hatfield McCoy trails, If Tennessee looking at the major places unless someone has other recommendations.
Would like to find a cabin to stay at near the place I am wheeling, would be nice to find one with a hot tub.
I don’t know anything about any of these trails so if y’all could steer me in the right direction that would be awesome.
Thanks.

How to ride Windrock trails for free without a permit.

Was riding our last day at Windrock yesterday (Wednesday 9-23-2015) with my wife ,brother his wife and son. We were on trail G1 and came across an elderly gentleman in his 80’s driving a late model gold Honda Accord. How he managed to navigate the mud holes and rocks I’ll never figure out. Some local riders had called the trail head office to get the security folks to come to his rescue and do what I would consider to be their job. To make a long story short they refused to come and assist the Old guy. My brother and his son somehow managed to lead the guy on out to highway 116 and got him back on his way to Indiana. Sure would like to have put that Honda on a lift and see all the drag marks on the bottom.
So if you want to ride for free just be elderly, lost, and helpless in a Honda and ride all day. The management at Windrock could care less.

Wayne national forest ride report

My wife and I spent Labor Day weekend riding in the wayne national forest. We stayed at the Williams campground which has a connector trail to the wnf system. We rode maybe half of the trails and we’ll be going back. The trails we were on were not particularly technical but they are narrow in some places. We crossed one bridge that was very tight for our 900 trail model. There is a work around for that. Trails are not well marked compared to hatfield McCoy. There was a little mud but not much and not very deep. During the time we were there the traffic on the trails was pretty heavy. There were quite a few dirt bikes and a lot of atvs. There is a 50 inch limit but we did see two rzr4’s which are illegal there. We saw no law enforcement on the trails at all. If you like mostly easy trails these are the trails for you. I understand the Dorr run area of the system is a little tougher. We didn’t make it to that area but I suspect it isn’t all that difficult either. Williams campground was very friendly and very busy. They have some campsites with electricity but no water. They do have water you can fill your tank with when you come in. There is also a dump station. They had a hog roast on Saturday and a mud bog competition too. It was good fun and the food was really good. This was our first time at wnf but it won’t be our last.

First trip to H&M this weekend. Thoughts?

We’re leaving tomorrow and heading to Ashland. This will be the first trip for all of us. I’ll be on my Scrambler 1000, and my wife and daughter and my
Buddy and his wife will both be in their RZRs. Any thoughts on what to pack for the trail? I’ve got tire plugs and a pump, a spare belt for the RZR, tools, and gas cans. I’m going in blind and don’t know what to expect here. I suppose a cooler with food and drinks (beer isn’t allowed is it?). Anything else I should consider before we head up?

If anybody else here is going to be at Ashland this weekend, I’d be more than happy to hitch up and ride.
