Winchester Bay? Can we survive without sand tires?
Can we explore without sand tires? No one in this group are interested in "flying" down the dunes…
Never ridden at Winchester or any of the Oregon dunes before.
Advice? It’s a long trip from Cali.

Some St Anthonys pix:
Going up we overnighted it at Sams Town Las Vegas then another at Golden Spike RV park in Utah.
Sams town used to be bargain camping but now its almost $50 per night with 50 amp.
In St Anthonys we stayed at Sand Hills Resort.
Nice place but if Sat TV/internet is an issue with you let them know up front when you book. Also Sand Hills is quite some distance from the big dunes.
It rains every day.
St Anthony has an easy going, friendly crowd atmosphere.
We asked one group of Rzr people if we could ride along with them the first day until we figured the place out.
The cut sheet map wasn’t much to go on,, always best to roll with someone in the know.

Dunecat:
The people we rolled with were friendly. Dunno if they were religious and bracing for us to bust out the Jaeger and brew,, but we refrained anyway until we made it back to camp.
We like St Anthonys way over Glamis, but the long pull makes it tough.
The sand is a fine powered sugar. Paddle tires make a HUGE difference.
The tire ruts and tracks soon vanish from just the slightest breeze.
It’s a Rzr jumpers paradise.
Plus long full throttle runs and monster bowls.
Two types of bees are everywhere.
They don’t sting nor bite people.
They are "Cutter bees" released by the farmers.
They bite and split the flowers causing the flowers to multiply is the short explanation.
If I ever do it again it’ll be for a longer stay and with friends.
The daily rainfall brings hailstones, and you may experience some damage to your vehicle.
Then again, you may not.
