Performance key question

I have a 2016 Outlander XMR 1000 and had a question about performance key vs training key.

Manual says that when performance key is in, the digital display should read "performance" upon startup. That doesn’t happen. Does that come across anybody else’s display or is it just the same as using the non-performance key?

It’s snowed so much I haven’t been able to really get on it and see if it will go over 45mph or not, so not sure if they’re both programmed for training key or not.

Muzzy Whisper cores

i am in the information gathering process now in researching dbs of exhausts. i would like full muzzy duals, but an worried about the db level of it. My wife rides with me a lot and we like to listen to music or have he ability to have a conversation while riding. Does anyone know what the db level is on a full muzzy with duals? The muzzy website lists dbs as 94 dbs. I wanted some real life db levels of theirs if anyone has them….On the muzzy website under the maverick section, they have "whisper cores" as an add on option. They advertise that they lower dbs by 3-4 dbs. Does anyone know if these will work on the outlander dual exhaust?…..is a slip on quieter than duals or about the same?…….I tried to call muzzy and no one answered and also tried to email them and didn’t get a response to these questions:th_smiliepullhair:…

Red rear bumper 2016 850

I order a outlander XMR 850 and I want the red rear bumper, so I went to my dealer today and it appears they need to order it part my part off the 1000 chassis. Any one have a better idea? I could always buy the black one and have it powter coated I suppose. Thoughts?!?

Custom mods on your XMR thread

I’ve got a couple great ideas I’m working on this winter for my XMR and will post pictures when they are completed.

First is building a storage box to mount a gas can in the area where a stock rad should be. Or possibly a custom aluminum gas tank with a pump as I’m welder.

Second is to mount my Bowie knife on the panel below my gear shifter for easy access incase I get charged by a grizzly at least I have another go to option as last resort or clear some brush with ease.

Third is another mounting bracket on the front to strap down my new DP-12 shotgun. Still pondering on that one because I need quick access and at the same time don’t want it jammed full of mud like I did to my ksg shotgun which still ran and fed flawlessly jammed full of muck, he he

Silverbacks vs Deep snow

Happy new years fellow XMR owners!

I was talking with a friend the other day and I was telling him that my silverbacks handle like crap in deep snow, he suggested that I should try swapping my silverbacks around so the grips are backwards for snow riding and I must say it helped a lot! Mostly in being able to steer better when cornering a snow drift. It looks like we all might get to play in the snow this year. Gotta love climate change

850 XMR Owners

I noticed there are a few XMR 850 owners on these forums and I have some questions for you guys.

– What is your shiftout at on your bike when WOT? In high range? In low range?
– What rpm does the bike engage at?

I’m wondering how much they changed the clutch calibration from the 15 800 XMR.
