I have been reading this forum exstensively because i had a new XMR 1000 on order. I picked it up today and i wont be able to wipe the stupid grin off my face for at least a month.:yahoo: I will not have any trouble trail riding this bike imbetween mud holes. Compared to my Rubicon this thing is a freak. Only mistake i made was letting my wife drive it. She comes back and says wheres mine:th_smiliefrustrated lol. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for posting on this forum and helping me with my concerns. A special thanks to Spawn as he answered a few PMS.

800XMR Fuel Octane Requirements
I now have 10 hours on my 2015 XMR 800. I decided that I would run 87 octane for the break in period as that is what the dealer filled it up with anyway. I normally run 91 Octane in most of my vehicles(Non-Ethanol 91).
I can tell you guys that absolutely I need to run higher octane gas then 87.

I’ve noticed that the bike has backfired on a few occasions and there is audible detonation under a heavy load. Most people don’t know what detonation(Pinging) sounds like but I certainly do. I also think that they may have leaned the motors out for the 2015 models in efforts to lower emissions, I think this is why a tuner is now picking up so much power compared to years past. I’m going to try and run 91 Octane as I’d rather not run a fuel programmer since the bike will be on warranty for quite a few years.
Anyone else with this model bike notice similar things?
2015 Outlander XMR 1000 clutch?
Hello,
First time poster long time reader. I bought a new 2015 outlander xmr 1000 and was wondering if a clutch was necessary because of the gear reduction? I’m running stock tires and don’t plan on going much bigger. Any input would be appreciated.

660 xmr rear diff questions
So is the 650 xmr diff the same as the 800 and 1000 diff, or is it the same as the regular 650 outlander diff, and Iv heard about diff problems and shim problems and the diffs having play inside right from factory,, I seen this on mechmike youtube video, is this something I should be concerned about, and just to clarify my 650xmr is a 2015,, thnx
