Delay on low end power

If this topic has been previously posted I apologize. I tried the search feature prior to posting and didn’t find anything with my wording of search options.

I have a 2015 XMR 1000 with 90 miles on it. The mods I’ve done include Muzzy Duals (full exhaust), can am extended snorkel, PC5 with VFJ tune, and a QSC primary and STM secondary. I have no issues with the machine. The power comes in hard as soon as you hit the gas. The shift points are spot on. A friend of mine has the exact same machine with the exact same mods. Only difference is his has about 200 miles on it. The problem we are having is his machine has a serious delay on the power coming in when accelerating from a stop or low speed. At first we thought it was a clutch issue. So we messed with the weights in the primary. That really made no difference. So we took the clutches off my machine and put them on his and it did nothing. Still a delay on the power coming in. When we swapped the clutches we used my belt as well. We checked both sets of clutches and they are identical springs, weights, etc. After doing so I would assume we can eliminate the problem being a clutch issue. Our next thought was maybe there is something wrong with his PC5. Is this a reasonable assumption? Both PC5’s have VFJ tunes in them and we were told the tunes in both are the same. We are at a loss at this point on what the problem is. Any suggestions on what to try next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Positive thread

Hello everyone I am new to can am but not atvs I started a thread on another site and thought I would do the same on here. A lot of times people only post problems about their machines on forums and can scare people away

So post up something positive about your machine or good experience you had with your machine

I also posted this in the outlander section

First service

What is the average cost for the first service on a xmr1000? my dealer told my like $270 plus the cost of oil and filter so it would be over $300, that seems a little high to me, my sportsman was only 170

XMR1000 stock seems really loud from the cvt intake?

i got about 100 miles on the bike now and have noticed from day one, but now as it get more and more broken in I am riding faster and faster, just seems really loud from the cvt intake ( I am assuming that’s where it is coming from) the faster I ride the louder it gets. It’s that way from the 0 mph to whatever I am crusing at,

2015 XMR 800 Stumble

I have a 2015 XMR 800 that I bought new last Sept. The bike currently has 73 hours and 390 miles. It recently developed a "stumble", for lack of a better explanation, that occurs through out the rpm range but is more prominent around 3500 rpm and more noticeable in low. At 8-10 mph in low holding a constant rpm there is an audible exhaust stumble that can also be felt, almost like a misfire. Plugs look good, vent line from tank is clear, valves have been checked, problem occurs with gas cap on or off. In an unrelated discussion with my local dealer when buying valve cover gaskets, the tech told me about problems he has seen with a sensor on the intake plenum that relates to air fuel mix, and how it is sometimes confused with valve issues. I had never heard of this so I took it with a grain of salt. Has anyone heard of this? Any ideas on what is causing my issue? Thanks in advance.

Should i buy a Xmr?

Recently my wife and I sold our pair of 2013 Poloris Scrambler 850…now we thinking buying a pair of 2016 XMR 1000. I have never owned a CAN AM. The nearest dealer is like an hour away. I have a couple concerns about these machines:

1. Is i see a lot of people going through brake pads. …. (350 miles) and people have to change them out. Why?

2. What’s the belt deal. People changing them out the MAVERICK belts. And going through them. .Why?

3. Any other issues to be aware of?

When i had the scramblers we did a lot of trail riding not to much mudding. I can’t see spending the amount of money on 2 machines (+30K) and drowning them in deep water. I know these machines are made for going deep in mud… I’m more intrested in these machines and some of the features.. because of the radiator located on the top rack cause nobody wants to be"THAT GUY" over heating issues/plugged radiator. Beside the lift kit and the better axles. Plus they like just look bad ass. Nobody in this area really has this machine.. that’s a positive.

Can anybody give me a good answer. Previous owners. Newer owners. . I know the 2016 are not out yet…how do you like the 2015. It is a lot of money to put out but just want to make a good purchase.

Xmr axles

I have been hearing a heavy clacking noise in 4wd coming from the front of my quad. Only hear it when right front is not in contact with ground. I have heard it one time while pulling a friend out of heavy mud and I was on fairly solid ground digging 4 holes. I was told it was an axle problem.
Is this so? And if yes, how do I determine which axle
