4wd light comes on.

2013 xmr 1000. Under hard acceleration the 4wd indicator on the cluster comes on and off. Hard throttle light on. Back off and it goes out. If you’re just cruising it stays out. Any ideas?

650 to 800 top end and clutch question

Iv been thinkin of ways to get some more power out of my 650 on a fairly good budget, and now iv come to relize that just cams wont do it, im better of with mrrpm 800 top end and cams , with feul controller of course (thats driving me nuts too),but iv already bought and installed dbo650 clutch kit, my question is will this 650 kit still work with a 800 top end on, thnx fellas

suzuki king to XMR

OK here are some of my experiences going from a 750 King quad to a 1000 xmr

I bought my Kingquad Used with 35 hours on it.
In the year I owned it I put snorkels, rad relocate, clutch kit and 30" silverbacks off an XMR.
That quad was a beast, never broke anything other than a fuel pump which is a known issue with suzuki’s. Although the King doesnt have the power of a V-Twin to push the 30’s, it was still quite impressive with lighter weights in the clutch. I would bury that quad in the thickest nastiest mud and never bat an eye, It was light and the select able front locker was nice for slowly pulling itself out of holes.

So I got the can am bug after my buddy bought a brand new 650 xt in march. The another buddy was selling his 2013 XMR with 50 hrs on it. The thing is mint.. So I sell my KingQuad and buy the XMR.

I have had the XMR for one week today, I have been on two rides totalling about 150 kms.
What can a guy say about the power other than WOW what an intense ride, The power steering is alot more effective in the XMR and just the whole quad in general handles its size and weight very nicely.
But in the time I have had it already, I took it on its first ride, made it about 65 kms and bent a tie rod while in 4wd and it broke the front drive shaft as well. So I towed it home on a trailer.. not a good start
Then at home the Air suspension stops working. Not good at all..
then I get it all back together new tie rod, new axle shaft, got the air suspension back to level 3… Time to go for ride number two on Sunday.
Riding along having a great time made it an easy 60-70 kms out on the trail and I turn to go up a hill and bend another tie rod, now having the experience I had the tools to pull it and straighten it. While doing that I notice the air suspension is on full height even though being on level 3 on the gauge cluster. No suspension at all the bike is rock hard. By the time I got home the back suspension was up so high and hard my back was broken I had to stop every 20 kms and loosen the air line to the shock and let air pressure out then the rear axle shaft broke just as I was turning into my yard.
Then my headlight switch burnt out so now I have to fix that

Not a good start but I will see how it goes after I get some beefy tie rods, good set of axles and take out the air suspension completely.
Still love the bike but maybe my wife doesnt like it so much lol
Spent two days riding and have worked on it for 5….:th_smiliepissed:

Belt- to change or not to change??

Ok my 15′ 800xmr has 63 hrs on the clock, i forget how many miles. Anyways, the group went riding sat night, bike ran great as always but i knoticed that in 4×4 in the mud the motor felt a lil bogged down in the lower rpms, mud was soupy with rock bottom so i wasnt lugging on it. If i really railed on it i could get her into the higher rpm band and then it was fine, just seamed like it worked hard in lower rpms like round 1/4 throttle.

I got into a real nasty hole but was able to work the bike out, never had the motor going hard with iut tires spinning, next hole i burryed it, had 5 giys trying to push, i gave it throttle, probally a little to much and i heard the engine rev high and tires never turned, only for a second, smelt the belt and winched out. Never had smoke come out of cvt exhaust but every time after that from a stop when i go to accelerate u could hear a chirp chirp ehen starting to move then it would stop, the noise eventually whent away, i still had a lot of mud in the trail back to the trucks and she never let me down. Ive had that noise happen a while back but it whent away, and 1 time i got water in the cvt, not a lot but enough to make it slip, The rad cover over the cvt intake is good but when hauling ass thru watter and it rains down over it some got in the intake.

Should i change the belt or am i ok?

DIY QuadBoss Weeknder on G2 XMR

Thought I would post a DIY I did last night for fitting a aftermarket seat/trunk on a G2 Outlander. Haven’t seen anyone make one yet.

Here is a picture of the seat that I purchased used.

Attachment 28376

First off you are going to need to remove the rear rack using a T30 torx bit. From the bottom of the rack you will need a 10mm wrench to hold the nut in place.

Attachment 28377

I then flipped the rack upside down and attached it to the bottom of the seat/trunk. Here is where I measured and centered the rack on the box.

Attachment 28378

The seat/trunk came with u-bolts, some oval plates, and wing nuts. I ditched the u-bolts and opted for standard bolts from Home Depot. In the above picture you can see which areas on the Linq rack I positioned the rack and where I drilled the holes for the bolts and plates to be attached to.
