Bent Tie Rod & Broke The End
Was on Vacation last week In TN, we hit Ride Royal Blue, Windrock, and Brimestone parks… Awesome Time!!!
I was riding in Windrock Park and took a down hill rut wrong and my right tire went the wrong way, was able to bend the rode straight and wire-tie the end on the ball so I could drive out. It was my fault, I picked a bad line.
My question is: do I go back factory? or after market?
2013 xmr driveshaft broke
I went to Hatfield this weekend with a bunch of friends. I made it 2 days of good fun riding covered 230 miles on my xmr. The universal in the driveshaft must have broke because the driveshaft came apart and went into the bottom of the transmission busting a nice size hole in the case. I will try to post some pictures of it this week. I didn’t think to check the condition of the universals before I left. If you own one of these machines learn from my mistakes and check it out before you ride. I have about 650 miles on it, I do a lot of muddin so i’m sure that is what lead to the universal wearing out. A buddy of mine that has a 2012 xmr 800 was riding with me and we checked his driveshaft and it felt like it had some play at the universal he has about 1200 miles on it, so he gets out cheap! Other than that the hatfield trails were great we rode the Pinacle Creek trailhead out of Pineville.
Cavtos lift
I just installed a 6in catvos lift on a outlander 1000 xmr and when you get on the gas and the back end squats it sounds like the axles are rubbing the shocks are maxed out and the mechanic that put it on wants to put heavier spring on to make it stiffer and I don’t want to do that unless I have to. Any help would be great and I have no clue on what to try to fix this. I hope someone can help.

Mpt 650xmr
Ordered my monster power tuner and auto tune today, steve at monster is awsome to talk too,, cant wait to get this installed especially after what he told me today,, so I have slip on yoshi, can am twin air and dbo650,,, all im looking for is to get a bit more throttle response and bottom end, and as it turns out, the 650 and 800 are detuned from factory on bottom end and the 1000 is detuned on top end, so this mpt is gunna take away all detuning in timing and give me all available power down low, not to mention im gunna take the spark arrestor out of the yoshi and put the factory air filter back in, this will give me more air goin in and more flow out,, burn more fuel and make more power, when I get it and get some time on it ill do a full review for people that might be thinking of getting it,,hope to do a video of install too:th_smiliewavey:
16 xmr 650
I have a 2016 xmr 650 I absolutely love it but I have noticed it spits out coolant I’ll notice it on the white plastic, I checked the amount of coolant tonight and it’s right on MIN. The dealership told me to keep it in between Max and min but I have read on here to leave it right at min. Any advice???
1000XT or 1000XMR? Perplexed!
Hey all. Can’t get the looks of the XMR out of my mind. Crazy good looking machine. I’ve been reading posts for about two weeks now for hours a day. Think I’m more confused than before I started as to what’s the best for me. I can say with confidence I’m never going to ride whatever I get, in mud that’s over the seat, so maybe I should just go with the XT. I read all the things about suspension, low end torque, trail riding the XMR and stuff but have some questions. I see the XMR has a speed limiter so top speed is 65ish. How fast does the XT go? I definitely want the option of the rear seat so I’d have to go with the 1000 with the XMR but would probably get the 850 in the XT if I go that way. Think I read the XT does 90ish. Is that correct? I see guys posting that the XMR suspension has no give when heavy guys get on. I’m 240 lbs and 56 years old. Not looking to have a suspension with no give. I’m thinking the majority of my riding will be power lines, thru the woods but want to plan for the unexpected. Someone told me just change the tires and suspension on the XMR and you have the XTP. I don’t want to change the suspension but the tires are no big deal. That said what’s better in the snow? I plan on getting the flex plow with whatever I get. The tires that come on the XT or the silverbacks? Guys complain of the the rear angled footrests. That’s easy to take them off or maybe even fabricate some that sit flat. So as I see it the things that could be important are too stiff a suspension if that’s the case. Maybe not enough top end speed. Is the XMR an air ride? Thought i read that it is. If so why the complaints of too stiff a suspension. Guys suggest the XTP. Not loving that with bead thing and the color. May not need the radiator relocate and snorkel but damn it looks cool. I feel like a 13 year old saying that but 15 grands a lot of dough. I want it to look tough. Thanks for any feedback you might have. I should probably copy and paste this in the XT thread for XT owners feedback. :th_smiliefrustrated
