Yep. I am thinking about selling my XMR now more than ever because I just rode in the ’16 Maverick 1000 Turbo yesterday. It maybe has 150 miles on it tops. Can sell with or without the extras…which in my honest opinion are huge upgrades. Trying to think of a good price. What do you guys think?
This one’s in Clifton Park, NY. And may be being replaced by a Maverick like this one on the left:
That’s my XMR in the front.
The aluminum foot platforms are here in my office.
Just putting on tracks..bought spacers for springs. Was wanting more ground clearance…looking them over, what is the difference to just tightening my springs as these fox shocks have ton of thread to compress…..
Thought I would post this here for easy reference of anyone that may be chasing that trail conversion. Or just wanted some info on their shocks.
2016 CAN AM OUTLANDER 1000 XMR PN 706 202 170
FOX PODIUM 1.5
1.25" SPACING
18.8" EYELET TO EYELET LENGTH
3.5" STROKE
Wheel Travel is still unknown to me ( Calculated 6 inches )
2015 CAN AM OUTLANDER 1000 XTP 708 201 812
1.25" SPACING
18.54" EYELET TO EYELET LENGTH
5.31" STROKE
9 inches of wheel travel
Reservoir Orientation is the Same
Mounting Orientation is the Same
So interchanging the XTP’s shock is viable. Also interchange for any upgraded shock for the XTP is viable. Tires will rub on full compression. Alignment camber may be off, but adjusting ride height should correct it.
Im not doing this anytime soon, I just wanted to find out how viable it was. Also, i am confirmed they are not the same parts on the XTP. This is front only info. Still need to confirm the rear.
Shout out to the awesome customer service at Demon Ind.:thumbsmilie:
So I broke an axle a few weeks ago and went and bought a replacement from my local stealership.
It was a PDI/Demon axle, It lasted all of 20 mins, there obviously was a problem with the shaft right out of the box.:th_smiliefrustrated
I went on thier website, filled out the paperwork and sent in pictures of the broken parts.
Got a call today and they would like me to bring my broken one in for a replacement at no cost.
That is all, just thought it was nice to see a company stand behind their product, I really thought they wouldn’t with something like an axle on a XMR 1000. :aniwheeler6:
Folks, just wondering if anyone could get the part number of the fan for me. I have the Can Am p/n but that is not what I need, SPAL Fans rep is asking for the number right off the fan itself.
I am offshore at work and wont be home for 3 weeks thus not near my quad. I am trying to source a replacement through SPAL Fans but they require the ‘VA’ # as they dont list a direct replacement for the XMR. To make matters worse Can Am is stating that this fan is unavailable with no know availability date, unreal.
Im debating blacking out the xmr. Any suggestions on where I can order black plastic for the ol xmr? Or is there a way to paint over the white on the bike? any other suggestions for parts to make the bike even better than it already is? thanks guys
