Renegade vs sport quads
Ok fellas, just got a xxc1000 and I have pretty much spent all my free time this week riding it. I hit the desert today with my buddy on his 700xx and we had a great time. We came across a group of guys – one of them was on a KTM 525 and the other 2 were on newer yfz450s. We got to talking and they were real cool guys so naturally, we lined them up on a harder packed section of sand and let em rip. Sadly, the big gade finished dead last in nearly every race with the 700xx and KTM "topping the podium" so to speak. When speeds got over 65, I was able to eventually start to reel the 450s in but the other 2 were still pulling strong.
Now, the 700xx has a full FMF exhaust and a FMF fuel programmer and the other 3 sport quads were had stock motors with pipes as well so I’m sure that had a little bit to do with it, so my question is this
What exhaust will give me the largest power gain? I see HMF makes an exhaust but I’ve never really been a fan, any other reliable options out there?
Does anyone here have experience racing some of the higher powered sport quads? What’s needed to slap some respect into them?
shocks rubbing swingarm
2009 Renegade 500 the bottom edges of the shocks are rubbing the shock brackets on the rear swingarms. Makes an awful metal on metal squeak when you shift your weight side to side. I replaced shock bushings this afternoon and it did help a bit but there’s still slight contact. This is baffling me, nothing appears loose or bent. Any help is appreciated.

2008 Renegade 800X RPM Max 6200
Hello everyone and thanks for your help in advance. I recently did a top end on my Rene. At same time I installed HIDs. I took care of the grounding wire when I installed them. Anyway, that did not work. Constant comm failure, rough idle, etc. Removed them and comm failure and rough idle gone. Problem is I can not get RPMs on bike above 6200 and about 45 mph. Does my ECU need to be reflashed? What could be causing this? If I slowly put throttle up, it climbs (although power doesn’t feel right) and when I approach 6200 there is still more throttle left. Problem is it won’t let me go higher and it feels doggy trying to go higher. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks!

The big question… What next???
I already have a vforcejohn clutch that will be purchased soon..
So the next thing, is what next???? What mod should I get or do? Performance? Security? Looks? Want to do something but it’ll also have to be in reason.. I thought about a 4" lift from performance atv.. I’d just have to get a set of 29.5 OL 1’s..
I pretty much ride WTFO all the time and usually in the Florida swamp mud and sugar sand

American Star
Anybody else had any problems with American Star’s tie rod end boots? I bought 4 new ends about this time last year and had problems with the boots rolling up on the ends from the get go. I even emailed American Star last fall asking if I could buy boots before the ends were trashed and they wouldn’t sell me any. Needless to say 3 of 4 ends are junk and Ive only put 400-500 miles on the machine since I put the ends on. Since I bought the 12mm ends and rods my options were limited so I broke down and bought another set. Put them on this morning and both inner ends are doing the same thing. The boots will not stay seated no matter what I try. Anybody else experiencing this with their ends? Its frustrating to say the least.
