How to disassemble the gearbox

Hi all, I am new to this forum. Normally i only read in here to get the info for my quads. My English is not 100%. I am from Holland and me and my son drive a Renegade. Mine is a 1000 and my son has a 800 from 2007. We bought his renegade a few months ago. Until now he is a bit unlucky with it. Many small problems we had to fix. And just when you think, now we can go and drive, something else is wrong. The problem we have now is that the gearbox is leaking after driving. The next morning there is oil under the quad, dripping down. When good cleaning and cool down the leaking is minimal. I also checked the vent and it looks ok. I can get some air through it by blowing. (I hope this word is correct 🙂 ). Second, the drive-shaft has a lot of play, just there were the rubber booth is. So I have two questions if possible.

1. The rear drive shaft has play in the splines. If i take the two parts in my hand and pull the shaft in the length of the mounting position, the splines have a lot of play. Lets say 3 to 4 mm up and down ( or left and right 🙂 ). So it’s not axial play. While driving and you accelerate good, you sometimes hear a "clunck". When driving smooth, no problem. I think this sound could be the shaft. The diff feels good, no play at all. Is it normal to have this play?

2. Most important, how can I get the gearbox out? It’s leaking at the bottom, between the housing, where the gasket should be. I stripped the whole quad. Loosened the rr diff and took out the shaft. Disassembled the CVT. Removed the CVT cover. But if you look at the gearbox fixing bolts, there is no play/room to move the gearbox rearwards, out of the engine and frame (arrows picture). I was reading that you should move the block forward? I also saw that there was somebody who could do it without moving the engine block. Who can help us with the wright steps?

Engine misfire

I’m getting engine misfire from about 3000-4000 rpm when in neutral or on load. I’ve noticed this for quite sometime but seems to be getting more prominent. Anyone have this problem and what did you do to fix it? or is it normal?

So far I’ve tried the following with no luck:
Cleaned air filter
New spark plugs (factory like-kind)
Fine adjustments on tuner

2012 Renegade Xxc 1000
VFJ Mods:
Slip on Muzzy exhaust
Clutch Kit
Digi-Tuner

Is the xxc package worth it?

I’m in the market for a new 4 wheeler and I’m coming from the underpowered Honda family. I want something that is sporty, has power steering, and is lighter than most mud bikes. So the only way to get dps is with the x xc package. Is it worth it? Do I even need power steering on a renegade?

I plan to do mostly trail riding around 35 miles in a day or so. But I want to be able to throw some mud tires on it as well. That brings me to my next question is the 800 and 1000 to much bike to handle for long trail rides? I was considering the new 570 but I don’t want to regret not getting one with power steering.

Beadlock Wheel Question

I have a 2008 Renegade with this rims http://www.4wheeldirt.com/wp-content…m-renegade.jpg as you can see the rims I have now cover the axle nut.

Im looking to purcahse beadlocks from a 2014 outlander http://www.canampartsguy.com/wp-cont…3033099775.jpg as you can see these rims dont over the axle nut. It looks as though they have a center cap that goes over the axle nut.

First off will the beadlocks from a 2014 outlander fit my 2008 renegade ? If they do will the center cap that covers the axle nut from the 2014 outlander work on my renegade ?
