Why 800 / 850 ?

Just want to hear from those who picked the 800 over the 650 or the 1000 because they like the 800. the 650 seems like people are satisfied on the trail, the 1000 is there in case you just want all the power you can get your hands on so 800 seems like it’s got plenty of power so if you bought an 800 you can probably just as well as bought a 1000? I want to pick up a 2016 max in either 850 or 1000 I could get either one if I want. I guess I would get to 850 so I can put the extra money towards a clutch kit or more accessories but that’s the only reason why I would purchase it when I can just gt the 1000. Maybe too much heat on the1000? 800 better/cooler? I don’t plan on putting anything bigger than maybe a 27 or 28 inch tires just for trail riding around here. So I guess I’m just trying to hear from people who did NOT want the 1000 and why?

Key issue

Hey 2014 outlander 800 , sometimes when I turn the key on the bike won’t start , if I turn it on and off again it’ll fire up , sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it to work , anyone have any idea of what might cause this?

12V Power Outlet Not Working….

I have a 2013 Outlander Max 500. I have looked through my manual and all over the web and I can’t find an answer. I used to be able to use my 12V power outlet on the bike to power my air compressor. Yesterday, I was out riding and had a flat. I went to use the compressor and the outlet would not work. I don’t know if there is something wrong with the actual outlet or not. However, I was wondering what the "Turn to Lock – Locking Point" writing means? Is there somehow a lock on the power outlet that would stop it from working? Any information would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

g1 hmf slip on for g2

So I have 2 hmf slip ons that were for my 06 outlander 800. One is legit brand new. I crashed the machine and took it off. I’ve tried selling it but no luck. So I got to thinking. If I made new mounts to fit the 2015 800 I have now would it work. So I ask all of you. Is there any other reason this pipe wouldn’t work in my g2?

Axle issues/lift questions

Ok so I’ve had my 2011 outlander 650 since almost day 1 of its life, had a tire that measured out to be about 27" on it and am very hard on it. So I bought super atv arched a-arms (JUNK DO NOT RECOMMEND), 2" super atv lift, also bought some moto mtc tires that measure out to about 29 and did all this at the same time. I put 9/10 of a mile on it with new stuff and came out of a tall creek and snapped RF axle. Only way out was to go back across snapped RR axle crossing. Thought well 500 miles of alot of abuse and no problems I was ok with it, so they probably had it coming. Bought 2 new oem axles broke again about the same scenario. Bought all 4 new ones off eBay through American cv got about 3 hours out of those today and now RR again and LF are broken.

So my question for the group is will gorillas be up to the task, does the lift need to come off and go back to a 27, is there a better lift I should use, or any other suggestions are appreciated. Also I rode the same way and places with the 27s. I completely understand hard riding breaks stuff and I’ll fix whatever I break knowing it’s generally abuse but there’s plenty of guys that I ride with that do the same things on the same or bigger tires that go all year or 2 without a single problem one rides a 1000 with bigger tires and hasn’t had 1 problem yet. Here’s some pics of the outty

Power steering issue

So got my quad back from the dealer after I had them do a rad relocate. Noticed that my handle bars are off just a touch. When handle bars are straight it goes to the left just a bit. Is this something cause by the power steering? Or is there a bigger problem. Thanks

08 outlander problem

I have an 08 Outlander 400 and I’m having a issue with it. I’ve read and read and haven’t had much luck finding an answer so I figured I’d ask here. Fail is flashing in the speed odometer and everything I’ve read says its the voltage regulator and I’m getting 14 volts and the battery is also testing at 14 volts. The starter doesn’t even make a sound when mashing the start button but can pull start it. Any ideas are very welcome. Thanks

Thanks,
BiggDaddy

Rolled my outie

Its a sad sad day, I rolled my outie. Other than the usual suspects when it comes to rollover damage, mainly the handle bars and everything attaching to them, I got some good scratches on the plastics. Also the front rack took a pretty good beating. On the rack I’m hopeful to straighten that myself and get it line-x’d but the plastics….I don’t really want answers, just opinions. Replace? Keep but fix the fixable stuff?
Also can plastics be line-x’d??

I will say this, after 4 rolls and sitting on its side until i got it flipped over, got on and it started right up. No smoke, no hesitation, pure champ. Major props to BRP but major kick in the coin purse to the driver. :th_smiliefrustrated
