14 Outlander 4×4 Wiring Damage

Trying to repair the wiring that goes to the 4×4 actuator plug on my fathers Outlander. Apparently a stick or something jammed up in there and ripped the wiring right out of the plug. I have attached a pic of what is left of the plug . Will I be able to order these little wire crimp on connectors with rubber boots from my local stealership or online parts site . I only see a pic of the plug on the parts diagram but there are other part numbers listed related to the plug with no pic. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The dreaded DPS system

Hello all, I am new to the forum and I just have a question hoping it leads to the resolution of my problem with my DPS system…

I know this issue has been addressed several times and I read every thread that I could find about it with no luck 🙁

I bought a 2010 outty 800 xt-p secondhand and the DPS has not worked since I bought it, the guy told me that it started when he changed the battery (don’t really know if that was a lie or not). I am getting the famous P0637 code and a check engine light. I did discover the stator connector area and saw that someone did a poor attempt at trying to fix it, clipped off the factory plugs and put electric tape and small gauge wire and it was all melted together! I clipped all that off and got some heavier gauge wire, crimped and heat shrinked it on hoping this would fix my problem, sadly it did not. I then checked the battery terminals, took them off, put some washers to hopefully get a better connection and still nada. I have checked frame grounds and everything else I know of. I even read about a couple recalls on the DPS for this year model and had the dealer run the VIN and he said that they were all performed.

Is there something I am missing?
Thanks guys :pi_sunglasses:

Rubber down customs Rad kit

Hello all just wanted to share with you a site that sells pretty bad ass rad kits for the outtys. Im sure some of you either have them or heard of them but for those of you who haven’t and are in the market check them out. I searched high and low for a rad kit for my 07 outty and wasnt finding much other than the wild boar and high lifter. Rubber down customs has many different custom designs. You can even make your own design. The prices on the website are in Canadian currency so its probably a 100 bucks cheaper usd. I got a tild (XMR style) rad kit with a custom graphic for $260 bucks to my door. It is being custom made for my quad. Check them out.

Wheel spacers question/practicality

So i just ordered some new 27 inch ITP Mudlight xtr tires and 14 inch ITP ss212 wheels. What thinking about installing a small 2 inch lift. My next question is about wheel spacers. I dont think i will need them from a function stand point but i am more curious from a stance stand point. Has anyone put on wheel spacers to make the quad wide – more stable and for a more aggressive look? Just curious if i can get some pros and cons before i buy them.

slop where rear tire mounts?

So with ATV in park just sitting there not running both rear tires seem to have a lot of slop when grabbing the tire tread and moving it.

Of course I jacked it up and took tires off and tried to tighten that 1 1/4" nut just inside the center of the rim (you take that nut off and put it back on when replacing rear axles)

That night was tight as fuuuuuuuu

so, bearing inside trailing arm? 2011 800 XT Outlander G1 frame.

Is there naturally that much slop? I mean, they both do it I guess but seems like they should be tight.

oh, the slop is like cast/camber slot, not the tire rotating forward slop.

I replaced factory rear axles with Rhino brand years ago and never an issue since. Everything else seems tight and normal.

Anyone else ever have this? normal?

Shifting problem / belt problem -12 650 Outlander

Hi,

I´ve been readind threads about these shifting problems and in my 2012 650 Outlander the problem seems to be the belt hitting the primary´s inner plate. I see marks in both plate and the belt. You can also see that the belt is not in the middle. I have 40 hours on my Outlander and opened the CVT for a cleanup. Both primary and secondary are spinning on neutral and park and gears go in with a "clunk". Replaced oneway bearings and greased all necessary parts properly. I put new tranny oil and the old one did seem ok. Put in Castrol 75w-140. Made no difference.

What might be the cause of CVT not lining up properly? All the parts are there where they are supposed to be.

What else might cause this?

Check Engine

I am down in TN for the Windrock Fall Jamboree.
I was up riding today and I kept getting a check engine code and I was running very hot.
I have a 2012 Max 800XT
I did some checking and my fan is cycling.
I pulled the Radiator cap off and ran it up to temp and the fan cycled several times and got no check engine.
Could I have a bad cap?
If the cap is bad, could it cause the engine to run hot?
I have 3 more days of riding ahead of me and would hate to miss it.
I am going to try to find a dealer to get my cap checked.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike
