Typical Can-Am motor “clunk”?

I’ve posted about this before but I have searched for a more in depth answer/reasoning with no luck.
I have a 450 outie 2015, and Every time I somewhat rapidly accelerate or hit the foot brake I hear that Can-Am "thunk" out of the motor. I have been told it is to do with the belt drive and it is normal. I can understand it and if it’s normal its no biggie but I cant find anywhere where can-am says its normal or really anyone besides us on these forums saying its normal. Also I have been looking for how these belt drive motors work but can’t find anything anywhere. I want to see drawn out what causes the noise and how power is transfered etc but no luck. Is there anywhere someone can point me??? And is this actually in fact normal???

Rough Idle After Stock Cams

Having an issue gents I removed my tuner and aftermarket cams and put it back to stock. It was stumbling a bit upon acceleration and sounds a bit like it has reversion, once u nail the gas it goes hard and power is good , just on low rpms it sound rough. I just removed the valve covers and went through the cam sync procedure. It’s perfect! I am at a loss, anyone run into this??

What type of body plastic on 2004 Outlander?

I need to do a plastic welding repair job on my 2004 Bombardier (Can Am) Outlander 400 Max XT yellow body but don’t know what type of plastic was used on that year’s model. I’ve contacted both the local dealer and Bombardier but neither could tell me. Does anyone who owns one and had to do plastic welding/repairs know? Thanks.

Emergency Kits….what are you bringing?

So after a close call on a 53 mile ride this last weekend, I found out just how unprepared we all were for the unexpected. I had the bare minimum, on board air, tire plugs, tarp, shovel, 150 feet of para cord etc. So now, I’m putting together a full kit and will probably have to dedicate my rear trunk to fit it all. Items on my list so far….

QUALITY med/first aid kit.
Survival blankets, bivvy sack, blue tarp, para cord, rope and nails.
Hatchet, Machete, shovel, tool kit, multi-tool
Fire starters, flint, lighters, tinder, head lamp (x batteries), glow sticks
Small strobe light, whistle
Water, purification tabs, purifier (unsure on which yet)
Mess kit, MRE’s, water bottles
small tent, extra gloves, socks, another jacket or sweatshirt
And of course, I’m packing when I’m riding (bear and cougar/mountain lion territory here) and will have a good stout knife. Also considering a radio of some sort. Oh and left out map, compass too.

This is a preliminary list and will be modified to season and available space. We’re planning some single day, 100 mile trips and are looking to do things right.

What are you all carrying? Got pics? Let’s all share and learn from each other…..Go Prepared my friends..

Cracked Rr Diff on my 800

I have a ’07 Outlander 800. There is a crack line on the Rr diff, rite at the fill plug. Wondering if there are others out there. I have ordered and received another from Bent Toys in Ontario.
I wondering to do a bandage on this.
I realize a lot of the comments are going to say, over torquing the fill plug. To me, it looks like a bad design, into which BRP will never admit to….thoughts???
