LF cv joint

Good day all, I’m having trouble sourcing out a LF inner cv joint for my 2003 outlander 400. It seems that all the aftermarket parts I find are 2006 to present.. I have checked the BRP site and it does appear that the part numbers are different. So my question is: will a cv shaft from an 06 fit my 03?

The part numbers are:
2003 plunging joint 705400155
2008 plunging joint: 705400510

Complete shaft 2003: 705400096
Complete shaft 2008: 705400514
If anyone can enlighten me it will be greatly appreciated.. Plow season is coming fast!

2015 xmr headlight replacement

Ok, I need some advice. I have cheap, white halogen Recon lights in my XMR now, but I want something different. They aren’t very bright, however they match the white in my light bar. It’s the only reason I am running them.
So my question is, what should i replace them with?
What is a strong WHITE halogen bulb that is brighter than stock. Should I go to HID? What kit is everyone running and how are the ballast holding up to the water?
Or even if someone has a good LED bulb to consider. Just so many options and so many mixed reviews. If you could share what you have, that would be awesome!

Heavy Duty Springs from Can Am

I have always been very unhappy with the front shocks on my 2014 Outlander Max XT. This year I saw that in the BRP catalog there is now a heavy duty spring kit for the Outlanders (p/n 715003199) so I ordered the front springs. All I can say is WOW, they were the best $100 bucks I have spent on this quad. I have them set on the stiffest setting and they are actually too stiff now. I didn’t bottom out like normal and the front end now sits up much higher than before. I haven’t measured but I swear my ground clearance is better. I wanted to pass this information on for people like me who have been unhappy with the stock shocks.

I was about to order the Fox shocks for $579 when i ran across these. While I’m sure the Fox shocks are better, I was only looking to upgrade my fronts.

I hope this helps.

Can Am what a pile.

Really Can Am could you make it any harder to change the fluids? Come on the foot well really doesn’t like to come out and getting it back together is crazy. A job that should take an hour or two is made way more complicated by your incompetent design. Does the oil drain plug and gearbox plug really need to be that tight? Have you guys at Can Am ever tried to get the gearbox drain plug started after removing it, I think not or you would not have put it where you did. Heck if you would have ever tried to put the foot well back in you would have made some design changes.

Guys wonder why shops charge close to $400 for this service well when it takes all day fighting with plastics and hard to reach plugs I can see why.

2011 Outlander Upgrade questions(shocks, exhaust)

I have a 2011 800XT with 600miles on it. I finally got a chance to take it on a "big" ride this weekend. Due to work and family issues after I bought mine, I was unable to ride much. Up til now, most of my riding has been slow paced and technical, but yesterdays ride was more my style, fast paced with hard corners and small whoopty whoops(small jumps).

I found I don’t like the stock suspension at all, it dips with hard braking and sharp turns and bottoms out bad with the smallest jump. I’ve read about Elka and Fox podium but am confused about the different stages. I am a big fan of spending my money once (I’ve done the "buy cheap and regret it" thing) but do I really have to spend 2k+ to get a decent shock? Is it worth trying to trade mine in on a new XTP?

Also, I would like to add an exhaust but don’t want something obnoxiously loud(is this possible?:th_smiliepullhair:). If I understand what I’ve read, I would need to do a programmer with any exhaust? What hp gain will I realistically see? Any recommendations?

Last thing, I like the factory tires on mine but the sidewalls are way to thin. I ruined two tires in my yard. I am thinking about getting the Maxxis Bighorns. Any reason not to? I read the all CanAm ATVs and UTVs have the same lug pattern but is the backspacing the same? Reason I ask is I thought about trying to find some factory takeoff beadlocks with Bighorns.

Thanks
daniel

2008 Outlander 400 needs low-end help!

My wife’s 2008 Outlander 400 desperately needs some low end to mid range torque. It is stock other than new Kenda 8 ply Bearclaws. I assume a clutch kit may be one way to go. Any suggestions for a clutch kit or any other suggestions. We do mostly trail riding in the Northeast. Not a ton of mudding but she wants confidence going up moderate hills. I also will be adding a 60" moose plow to do our driveway this winter. Thanks! :tools1:
