Had a look today at the BRP Australia website and noticed they have dropped some models from the local line up. Renegades and XTPs are gone completely, and my local dealer confirmed it as well. Wonder if the value of my 2014 1000 XTP just went up ??
So I bought a 12 in light bar off ebay,, the double row cree bulbs $70 one, it mounts with studs underneath, not arms on the side, so im looking for mounting ideas I dont want to drill holes in my front bumper,, I found some mounts on ebay but im unsure on what diameter my front bumper is ,, anyone have any ideas or mount ideas, thnx
07 outlander 800, thought the valves were making noise, so I popped the valve cover off. To my surprise, the timing chain was behind the cam gear, and the tensioner was worn right through. Thing still ran, had a loud tick from cyl 2 but never noticed a decrease in power while riding.
Curious if these engines are interference type, and how I go about diagnosing the cause without putting it back together and firing it up. Going to pull the head off tonight and see what the valves look like.
Any input welcome, haven’t ripped a quad engine apart before but rebuilt many engines in cars/trucks and such.
Rear end of my 2013 outty 800 xt saggin to the on side.
Not air pressure, pretty sure not a bad shock. Seems to pull one way a bit to on the throttle. 2012outty had the same problem but not sure if he got it fixed. Anyone? Its driving me nuts.
I need some input from you guys that are running the new Yoshi slip-on.
I just took my lightly used Yoshi back for warranty because it didn’t seem to seal tight at the inlet … hear a faint leak with 3′ chunk of hose still after fresh gaskets and clamp.
Backfire at partial decel … sputtering/less responsive cruising at 10-20 mph than the stock car muffler. Over 5000 rpm, seemed fine in this respect.
Recently got a "tinny" sound to it, very noticeable at idle.
Mine was also Harley loud when most guys are saying it’s not too loud at all (subjective of course and no way to compare).
Anyhow, was hoping they’d have a look at it so I’d know if there was an identifiable problem but BRP just warrantied it and advised that I NOT buy another to replace it at this time as "they were having issues" with the units. No details, just "issues" …
I was finally gonna get to try it with the Monster Power Tuner (Dual Auto Tune … just welded the bungs on tonight) to see if mapping was an issue but then just find out BRP says they are refunding my cash instead of replacing the exhaust as mentioned.
Sooo, are you guys seeing any "issues"? I know I saw one falling apart at the cap but other than that haven’t heard any issues really. They haven’t been out long so not many hours on them yet I guess …
Not sure if I should just order another one or find another option. Not really interested in any other brand out there other than the RJWC because it wasn’t too loud and had "lifetime" SS packing and that claim seems to be up in the air. The Yoshi is a beautiful looking exhaust, albeit a little loud for my liking, it did sound great. BRP said they won’t warranty it a second time as I’d been warned. Anyone else heard anything about this? Issues yet?
Decided I want to go Can-Am, tired of my slow Hondas (still love them for a work bike) Love to go new but funds are tight right now due to building a new workshop at home. I have been on the look out for a used Outlander 800 think i found a decent deal on a 09 xt with 1200 miles for $5g at a dealer. Havent seen it in person but it looks nice and unmolested. I’ve been around atvs forever and owned just about everything at one time or another. Other then the obvious things to look for on any atv what are Can-Am specific thing to look for on a 2009 800 or any Outlander for that matter? Plan on adding snorkels, 28"-30" tires and some clutch mods eventually. Mostly a 50/50 mud/trail bike.

Picked up a used outlander max xt with the 800 engine. The thing is in generally good shape. One of my rear tires has a slow leak. Has anybody used tire sealants with any success?
Do you capture your GPS data when going on rides? i particularly like long rides, somtimes 3 days at a time in the forest with everything i need. here is a ride i did with the eastern sierra ATV jamboree last june. you will need to have the .KMZ or .GPX file from your device so it can be imported into google earth and upload it to google drive so you can just post the link on here to the file.
I recently moved from a 2010 Sportsman 850 to a 2015 Outlander 650XT. The 850 was a blast but kept breaking (in really expensive ways) so I made the switch to Can Am. On my first ride of the Outlander it felt like I was on a see-saw. The rebound in the stock shocks was terrible. I fooled with the settings but making them softer made the bike bottom out. Lowering the tire pressure caused me to snake bite the sidewall on a rock and get a flat. I didn’t want to drop $1500 on a set of Elkas or $2000 on the higher end Fox Shocks after just dropping 8k on a new bike so I went with these. I was skeptical but these are hands down the best upgrade I have ever done to an ATV.
I just got back from a weekend at Hatfield and we did close to 200 miles. By the first small jump I was sold and finally fell in love with this bike! It handles every bit as well as my Sportsman did, if not better!
