I found out what was causing antifreeze to leak from the coolant jug.. the rubber groomet on the cap is very crappy.. a lot of other xmr owners said this is happening them to them to and can am says it’s a defect on there part. All we can do is seal it…. what’s the best stuff to seal it with? 2016 xmr

How do I pull up the p codes on my 2014 CanAm Outlander 1000 XTP ?

I purchased a 2014 Outlander XT 500 for my wife and she loves the machine. To me it seems doggy when you punch the throttle at take off. Once the machine is rolling it has plenty of power and once in the power band hang on. I have asked our dealer about it and they say that is normal for a 500. So my question is…you other 500 owners sexperience the same or is yours fast off the line?

Hi all. My cigarette lighter socket has always been hot without the ignition on. That’s the way it was factory installed. For some reason, it has stopped getting power. I traced and tested the wires (about a foot long) from the socket back as far as they would go to the major harness where it gets lost among all the other wrapped wires. I checked the fuses and they’re good. Why am I not getting power to the socket anymore? This is on an ’04 Outlander 400 Max XT. In the meantime, I’ve connected the socket directly to the battery with a 2 amp inline fuse. I use the socket to power my gps. I’d still rather keep using the original wires if possible….it’s cleaner. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks.

Hit some trails in Alton area today. Haven’t been there since about 2012. Sad to see many many trails closed down. There was a new area open so we explored there a bit. More technical type riding than moderately smooth trail riding. The machine ran great as I got used to it. It is much noisier than my old ATV. The drive train whine and all. The biggest thing I noticed was how hot it was to ride. The plastic and seat got very warm which was nice when we started to ride at 31degrees F. I don’t think I can imagine riding this in warmer weather without sweating my arse off. I assume this is common. Felt good to hit trails again. I have a vestibular disorder which causes me to lose my balance fairly easily so certain riding situation can mess with me. Today I only had two instances that messed with me. So that was good.
Got home and washed most of the mud and dirt off. If we get more weather like this I may get a few more rides in before ice fishing season.
