I didn’t see any recent posts to revive, so I’m just making a new one.
I have a 2009 Outlander Max 800r LTD. Riding in 80 degree weather, the heat on the legs is unreal.
Most people say wrap the exhaust and such, I don’t think that’s my issue. When I’m not moving, the heat isn’t that bad. Going around a left hand turn, I feel all the heat go to my right leg, and a right turn puts it on my left leg, following the airflow.
I’m thinking I may be missing a piece of guarding or something, but I don’t see where anything could be. Any ideas on diverting airflow away from the footwells?
I thought about relocating the radiator up top, but that seems like it would cool the legs, but heat my chest.
It’s leaking from the rubber groomet on the top of the cat on the coolant jug.. I tried black gasket maker on it to seal it and it didn’t work. I called my dealership and he said he could put silicone on it or replace the groomet but he warned me that everyone’s that he has replaced went back to leaking after the next 2 rides. I’m sick of adding coolant after every ride or two. I paid a boatload for this bike for it to be doing this. Should I try silicone? 2016 Xmr 650

HI.
Anyone who has trouble during gearshift on outlander? When i change gear it often comes a "scratching" sound before it goes right in to the selected gear.. Went to the dealer to check it out today, but they say it is like it should be.. Told me to move it a little forward/back before trottle to be sure its in gear… I don`t think this is the right way…. Anyone who knows if it is possible to adjust this in any way?
Hi ever one, my Father has a Can Am outlander and we want to do some winter riding. The local Can Am dealer has told my father that they have heated hand grips that can plug into the machine and do not have to be hard wired in.
Does anyone know about these or tell me if they exist and do they work ok?
I did a search and I could not find any grips that just plug in.
Thx for any help.
Occasionally, but not always, the handlebar brake lever sinks almost to the bar. This only happens after shifting transmission between High, Neutral, and Reverse. If I reapply the brake it returns to normal. Otherwise brakes behave correctly. Not spongy otherwise, no leaks, no loss of brake fluid. This is on a new 570 L Max.
