Just installed a new (from Can-Am) carb for my 2005 Outlander 400 4×4 and it fired right up after the install but would not run with less than 1/2 choke. Also replaced the spark plug at the same time I installed the carb, it was a bit fouled. After a few minutes of running it backfired thru the exhaust and now it won’t run at all. Having the exact same issues I was having with my previous carb.
From what I’ve read this is a pretty common problem, what is the cause?
I’ve attached a recording and would appreciate some feedback. After unzipping, file is in m4a, Quicktime format. Can anyone tell me if this is the visco lock noise everyone speaks of or something else? I’m assuming this is part of the normal Can Am noises but just want to verify.

I have been looking in to upgrading my tires and was wondering what would fit. I have been looking at going with ITP Hurricane 14" rims and 27" ITP Mud Lite XTR’s.
Does anyone know if this will be an issue? Will I need wheel spacers or modification to the fenders?

On the Power Commander website the 2011 Outlander 800 is not listed, the almost identical (from a technical perspective) Renegade 800 is listed. Does anyone know if this is a mistake? Can my dealer order the Renegade one?
My dealer asked Dynojet sales (the EU distributor) but they don’t know more than their own website says.

Has anybody here turned their xtp into a more mud friendly bike? Im looking to build myself a solid trail/mud and im looking for opinions I was thinking about building an Xt but with the extra bells and whistles im thinking it would be cheaper to build an Xtp
I’m looking at possibly buying a used can-am. I found an outlander 2011 800r xxc for sale on Craigslist looks to be in good condition with 355 miles and 58 hours. It comes with the original wheels and tires plus a set of 14" msa’s with 28" Zilla’s with supposedly 50 miles on them. I don’t care for the wheels and that tire is definitely not for me. What do you think this is worth? He is asking $8100 obo, I’m thinking $7200 is a fair price.
What should I look for, anything that wears excessively? Any problem areas? Should this particular year or model be avoided?
Good morning. I just finished installing a brand new carb on my 2005 Outlander 400 max 4×4. My question is where do the two small rubber hoses go that come pre-attached to the carb, are these just vent lines? Anyone have a photo?
I have a 2004(?) 330(?) Outlander 2WD here with a similar(possibly the same?) carb and it appears that the longer of the two lines is routed towards the back of the drive belt housing and points at the ground whereas the original hose on my 400 went to the front of the machine.
