I have an 07 outlander 500 and last night I was riding it and my speedometer started jumping around going from 30 mph to 10 mph etc… and I thought that maybe if I switched it to digital readout that the problem might be in my analog gauge. It did the same thing on the digital readout but my tachometer worked fine on both the digital and the analog making me thinks that my gauge cluster is fine. Any suggestions on what it might be if its a sensor or something causing this?
I was thinking of upgrading my stock shocks, 2014 Outlander 800XT MAX. Im kind of tired of the front end dive and almost rolling it over when I turn a low speeds, the back tires come right off the ground. I was thinking of ELKAS, not sure what stage. I dont ride hard, more less touring with passengers. I use it alot for moving boats, snowmobile trailers w/ sleds on, and have tracks for icefishing in the winter, and plow snow with a the Alpine flex. I use the front 2′ receiver hitch most of the trailer moving. I also have a 20 gallon sprayer on the back for occasional summer spraying. Where is the best place to buy from in US? Price and service? Also for the guys/gals that own them or have had them for a long time, how is the rebuild process? Do they have to be sent back to Elka? How long to they last before needing recharging/building? I did my own shocks on my Polaris and Arctic Cat snowmobiles once or twice a year depending on snow, every 1000 miles. Thanks

First question is …I backed my ATV out of the bed of my pickup. I stopped it while the front wheels were still elevated on the ramps and noticed if i grab the wheels there seems to be a little slop in them. I can turn them back and forth just a little. Is this slop normal? It doesnt seem like it should be.
2nd question: when i sit with the machine running in park and turn the wheels from left to right and back i can feel no difference in the resistance whether the dps is s
et at max or min. Shouldn’t it turn easier on max even at idle?

Alright guys so I know polaris has there sportsman 1000 now with 6 more hp than our outlander 1000’s. Haven’t been able to find to many videos yet and I gotta know which is faster. I know the sportsman weighs almost 100 lbs more. Anyone put them head to head yet?
Why is the shifter stiff. Its takes a little bit of force to shift gears. Some times ill go into low and its like it gets cought in between high n low, start moving with no problem but when off throttle itll make a grinding noise when coasting.
When i shift from reverse to a drive gear or the other way around it feels like its stuck in that gear n ill pull on the shifter then it will les loose n go into the other gear. Whats the cause of this. Done it since 0 miles. Bike has 160 on it
