I am getting a DPS Overheat when I am in Low gear. I did the reroute of the harness and it did not help. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Or might know the fix? I appreciate any help.

Hey everyone, new user and new owner of a 2009 Can Am Outlander 800 Max Xt. I have a question, just bought this unit used of course being a 2009 and first ride out the check engine notification goes on. I rode it about 50kms no issues, sounds or concerns however its always on. Not wanting to take it into the dealer for $ reasons is there a way I can determine what is causing this to go on?
Thank you in advance.

Last spring I bought a left over 2013 outlander 1000 xt. Saturday I done the second oil change it had 360 mile around 70 hours after removing oil drain plug I found a pin stuck to the magnet. looks like some kind of alignment pin there was no material of any kind that would normally be found on drain plug. I took the pin to the dealer mechanic. He had no clue what it was said to bag and tag and not worry about it just ride it. I ask what if the warranty runs out and flys apart and destroys engine. He said just keep up with it and if anything happens can am might pay for part of cost. I call bs. But anyway I went for about a 50 mile ride Sunday ran fine. The only thing I noticed is when cursing about 25 to 30 mph and feathering throttle it has a rattling noise on right side of engin. Sounds like spark knock or timing chain hitting something. Is that a normal rattle? What kind of pin is it? Should I make dealer take it and take it apart to find out what it is? I will make them write up a work order to say they have checked it to have proof.pics blow if I can figure out how to load them.

Bent a tie rod on the trail so took of the tire bent it back, finished off the day. picked up a new one for the next ride. one hour into next ride it bends completely again. So i replace with a brand new one that i bought the night before. start riding and after 20 minutes notice some play in the steering check it and its bent again as well as my other tie rod. i buy 2 new ones and go out on next ride without any spares… end up taking off the tires and bending them back on the trail 3 times in 1 day embarassinging myself in front of all the guys i ride with who all ride hondas… I’m going to bring into the shop this week once i get everything all cleaned up. does anyone no whats going on here? (sorry for my bad punctuation and spelling)
Ok so I’ve been running 30" mambas since I bought the bike and the guy I bought it from told me it had no clutching. When I’m not riding through mud and ruts I’m riding through sand bars and about up to 3 inches of water. So when I’m doing that I bought a set of stock tires and and they go through the shallow water much easier than the mambas so I can stay in high all the time. Only thing is they don’t really grip the loose sand very well and the front tires are so skinny they can’t float the front end and get up a water wheelie I get into the deep stuff. Anybody know what would be a good, light mud tire that I can run in high through shallow water and sand and be able to turn them easily? And with not clutching???
Seriously, I know it says up to the floor boards is ok, I get that.
Riding with friends last weekend, I refused to cross a small creek in which I caught hell from them for not going across. The water would have been a few inches higher than my feet I’d guess. Did I do right in making that call or how deep am I really ok to run in and be safe. Its completely stock Outlander 650 XT. I wanna have fun but don’t wanna do anything wrong nor be called a wuss.
