I am installing an EZ Steer power steering unit on my 2009 Outlander 500. I cannot mount the motor due to the bracket that I am pointing to in the picture below. I have nothing that mounts to that bracket. Can anyone tell me what the bracket is for? Does it have anything to do with strength of the frame? HAs anyone ran into the same issue?

Oil change filter question
This may be a stupid question, but am I supposed to lube up the rubber gasket on the filter that mates up to the engine? I am not talking about the gasket on the filter cover, but rather on the filter itself.

Clutch Puller
Hey guys and gals, new to the forum and my first Can am. I bought a 07 outlander max xt 800 off a very good friend of mine. Bike is completely stock with 2300km’s on it since 07. I am Big in the sled world, i have a few doo’s and do all my own wrenching/maintenance on my stuff.
My question… i have clutch pullers for the TRA clutches on the sleds but does this 800 outlander use the same puller? wondering if i need to retool for this bike.
thanks,
paperboy!
Anybody have a set of 800 cases warp or destort
Took a running 800 motor completely apart to upgrade some parts. During reassembly of bottom end I noticed the crankcase dowel pins did not line up right. I was able to take a dead blow hammer and smack the cases and they slide right together. Didn’t think it was a big deal so went ahead and pulled it apart and installed the new crank and rods and put it back together. All bolt holes lined up perfect but dowels a little off. Gave it a smack and it went together. Torqued all bolts to factory specs and went to rotate crankshaft. Crankshaft rotates by hand but I believe its not as smooth as it should be. Feels like its slightly on a bind. Looked over the cases real close and noticed wear the through shaft bearing housing slides into the cases in the rear of motor is not lined up like it should. I can not get the through shaft bearing house to go into cases in the rear. The housing slides right into the one on the front like it should. Looks like the rear is warped by about .030". Didn’t notice this when we took motor apart but it was tough getting cases to split at the time. Now I know why!! This motor was putting out a lot of power and torque, there was nothing stock about it plus it had some NOS on it. Just checking to see if anyone else has had this problem??? Looking for a good set of cases if anybody had them…

Where does this hose route to?
2013 outlander. Just noticed this hose hanging. Right side of machine. I believe it’s coming from the water pump. Could be wrong. Where does it route to?
Thanks.
