What are your thoughts on rad relocate kit

Considering purchasing the rad relocate due to difficulty of cleaning radiator and I think it looks neat sitting on the front rack. Also, I have the concern of the quad going in limp mode although I have not experienced it. I don’t do the heavy mud, maybe just up to the floor boards and the rest is trails at parks in GA or at a friends property.

I have a max with the storage bag on the back and I’m aware I will lose front storage which is not a big deal to me. For those that have the rad relocate do you regret it. Or do you feel its a mod that your glad you did. Any pros or cons. Btw, I’m looking to go with the BRP rad.

LineX on A-arms and rear trailing arms?

I’m wondering what people’s opinions are on coating A-arms and rear trailing arms with LineX. I’m installing PATV arched arms on the front and CFab stretched rear trailing arms and am thinking about having this done as my ricochet arm skids will no longer fit on the new suspension pieces. I’m paranoid about the powder coating scratching and chipping and then rust starting as I use the 4wheeler in the winter up here in Wisconsin and as people up here know, road salt and steel do not mix well. This seems a great way to protect these pieces and keep them looking like new.

They would be a little harder to clean with the texturing and maybe drag and catch more sticks and brush but may slide better over rock and ice chunks? Anyone else do this or know of anyone who had it done?

Elka Stage 3 Opinion

I’m looking to do some updates to my 1K, The podiums are getting worn out after 16,000 miles of abuse. I see the Stage 3 on BeerBay for $1200 and wondered what people think. I ride mostly aggressive trail riding. No racing and no deep mud. Let me know what you think.

need some help

hey guys, so long story short i went riding yesterday with a bunch of guys, some on 4×4 and some 2×4… one got stuck in a strong current river and i was ahead of him so i had to pull him out… when pulling him out, my tires were spinning a bit, and i saw some black smoke or what seemed like black smoke, i smelled a burnt odor, and when i left off the throttle i heard a screeching noise.. i was in H not L.. rode for the rest of the day, washed the bike and just took it apart and took a look inside the belt case, i didn’t see much, the belt looked ok, but i did smell the same burnt odor from the belt, so i cleaned everything in there with air compressor, and replaced the belt with a factory one. the belt that i replaced doesn’t really look beat up or torn.. do you think i did the right thing in replacing it, because this isn’t the first time i hear the screeching noise when i spin tires when pulling someone. what do you guys think that smell was and that noise?

A positive thread

Hello everyone I am new to can am but not atvs I started a thread on another site and thought I would do the same on here. A lot of times people only post problems about their machines on forums and can scare people away

So post up something positive about your machine or good experience you had with your machine

Problems with Outlander 400 fuel system

2006 Outlander 400 Max. Recently it started running really crappy nut I was able to baby it back to my shop. Not sure if it ran out of fuel or there was a fuel delivery or carburation proble,. So I filled up the fuel tank from a jerry can. Now it starts and runs but if I give it more than half throttle it bogs down. I changed the pulg — no difference. It acts like it is not getting enough fuel so its either the carburator or the fuel delivery system.

So I pulled the carb and am looking it over thinking it may have a clogged jet from debris introduced when I dumped the fuel from the jerry can in.

Near as I can tell the machine has no fuel pump but gets fuel to the carb by pressurizing the fuel tank via an impulse line from the intake manifold… Correct?

Thinking about taking the carb into the Can-Am shop to be cleaned out/rebuilt since my old eyes are not real good for small detail work. Comments?

Any othert suggestions? Thinking it may be a good idea to cut one of the fuel lines and install a small fuel filter………
