I have a 2012 outlander 1000 with full dual muzzy and pc5 I finally started to play around with my autotune and was wondering what everyone is setting the air to fuel mixture. Like 12.9 or 13.2 or 14.7 ??
I have a 2008 outty 500.
We mostly do mudding and it is usually a short ride before someone gets stuck.
I was out with my father in law and did some trail riding, so mostly low rev, low speed stuff.
After I ride for awhile I lose all power, it backfires and will barely haul itself.
It will idle fine, but just wont rev. If I shut it down for 2 minutes the problem goes away and it runs fine. For a little while.
I haven’t had much time to tear it apart as I work out of town.
Things I have tried:
It has a new inline fuel filter.
Took off gas cap when running rough but there doesn’t seem to be an airlock issue.
Had new plugs at the start of the season.
Air filter "appears" to be good.
Last year I had to install a new in tank fuel pump. The rubber grommet for the vent in the top of the fuel tank had broken and it pulled a bunch of water and mud in. I have extended the vent to under the pod, but it isn’t blocked.
Would it be a fire issue? And if so how do I test it?
I am pretty good with a set wrenches and diagnostics but I am looking for some advice to speed up the process. I want to go riding.
I also want to upgrade to an 800 and give the little guy to the wife. But she doesn’t seem too interested when it isn’t running right!

I took it to the dealer last weekend to have them look at this problem I’ve been having, they couldn’t duplicate, said there’s nothing wrong with it. The warranty runs out in 2 days. I sent this same vid to the service guy at the dealer, we’ll see.
I have a 13 XT but looking to buy the XT-P cluster. Anybody know the difference between the 13 cluster and 14 cluster. I noticed the part number changed.
Well I got mine on Saturday and it sounds great. I would highly recommend this if you don’t want to mess with a fuel controller. Not sure if it is just in my head but I think it feels more responsive and quicker.
