Trunk Tool Storage

Check out what you can keep in the trunk box of your G2 Can-am! I’ve got a tow strap in there behind the toolbox, 4 rags, the winch remote controller, and a collapsible shovel.

Took me forever to find a toolbox that would fit just so. I finally did in some bumf*** town. In the toolbox I managed to fit a good size SAE/metric 1/4 3/8 socket set, channel locks, vice grips, side cutter pliers, needle nose, a leatherman, a ton of electrical connectors and fuses, a mini hacksaw with 3 extra blades, heat shrink, imperial and metric allen keys, a 5 inch bastard file, a 5 inch triangle file, and a few more knick knacks. I plan on taking the plastics out of the socket set and just keeping a few select sockets. That way I can fit some wrenches in there. All in all pretty happy. Inspired by a guy on youtube named "Billavista."

PS yes I know the trunk isn’t waterproof.

Outlander Grizzly Fender Storage

Picked up the parts and did the Yamaha Grizzly storage compartment mod on my G-2 Outlander and a friend’s G-1. They work great so far!

Doing it on the G-1 is a tiny bit more difficult as the fenders aren’t as flat as the G-2’s. That being said, it’s not difficult. Used a router to cut the hole on the G-2 and a 4.5 inch holesaw on the G-1. Recommend the holesaw method

As you can see there is lots of room on both for tires. I’m running 28 inch zilla’s and the red one has the 26 carlisles on it.

Something I didnt think of… and I would change it. I would install it on the left side of the quad (like the red one) so you can still rock the throttle while digging for your smokes or bubblegum. I’m all about distracted atving.

New 2015 outlander 1000XT making loud knock

Took the outs on its maiden flight this week. I noticed right away that when I excellerate quickly I hear 1 load knock sound, then when I let off the throttle I hear it again. I can make it knock over and over by quickly excellerating and decelerating. Took it back to dealer and showed them by riding it in lot. Excel-knock, decel-knock, excell-knock, decell-knock. They say all can ams do this, and it’s normal. I’m not convinced. Is there an explanation for this? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also I checked bushings, all tight, removed tow hitch, no change, not shock noise either. Even made sure to secure winch hook so it’s not that. I did read something about the primary clutch engaging and making a clanking sound but that was on a post concerning a 2008.

Any info would be great. I hate having an issue on a brand new machine.:th_smiliefrustrated

Gloves for winter

Hi all,
Looking for suggestions on winter riding ( snow ) waterproof gloves that still maintain good dexterity and feel. Everything I have tried so far either leave my fingers numb or are too thick to feel anything.

Burning belts

I have an 07 outlander 500 hmf exhaust , power commander tuner , dalton clutch kit , 09 intake box swap , fully snorkled and 28 inch vampire EDLs . My problem is I keep smoking belts , I’ve tried every clutching combo I can using what I have between my stock parts and the dalton springs and spacer ! I will be installing the griffin performance 640 bbk soon and I want to get this belt issue sorted out . Every time I get in deep thick mud it starts smoking the belt when worked hard . It is staying dry cause I can ride in water all day with no issues. I’ve also tried 3 different brands of belts now . Any input is greatly appreciated . This is starting to get expensive lol. Thanks
