2013 commander dps questions

Replaced the coupler part number 709401138 with the 2014 part number 709401328. Unplugged the 3 plug ins dropped the rack and took out dps. Pressed off old coupler put all back together. Put dielectric grease on all plug ins. Fired it up and no power steering. Check dps on screen and engine light on. Had dealer scan came up codes PO562- system voltage low and
U3001 Module improper shutdown. Battery is fully charged and still nothing. Any ideas?

Rock Sliders

Any folks running rock sliders? If so what you have? I need them but don’t know what is the right one’s that will work well in rough stuff. Looking at oem and ricochet now as the ricochet on the Outty is doing the job. I know I have to make my own decision but need some input from folks that ride hard stuff.

Commander Budget Selection

Hey all,

I sold my outlander years ago and am getting close to getting a commander but need some of your thoughts. My budget is making me choose between a used 1000 or a new 800. The used 1000’s have some accessories but 500-1500 miles. The new 800 has 0 miles but no accessories. I 100% trail ride and have no desire for racing or huge tires. Can I get some of your thoughts? I have googled commander to the point my keyboard sighs….

Oh and power steering? I’m thinking it is a must?

Mileage concern

Hello everyone.

I am looking at purchasing a 2014 commander 1000xt, but the concern I have is with its mileage. The unit "seems" well maintained and is a dealer trade-in but it has 6000kms (3728 miles).

What should I be looking at ? Should I be concerned? How many miles is it good before major issues arise? It doesn’t look beat up at all. Just high miles…?? good investment for the right price or should I walk away?

Another belt question

Is there any brand or type of belt that works better with engine braking compared to any others? Carbon or Kevlar? Gates or ?
Just installed a cvtech primary w/one way.
While it does the engine braking almost down to idle, once in a while you smell the belt and get a lil belt chirp when taking off.
I’m not an expert on this but the OEM belt (cvtech labeled) was what I thought installed backwards, the lettering on the belt is upside down and I see no arrows for rotation(crank rotation-CCW). I always thought the belt was supposed to be mounted when facing it you should be able to read the numbers.

Fun Factor. Commander vs Maverick

New to site and have never drove a S X S. (Had a 1978 Honda Odyssey if that counts). Having not drove either machine I was wondering if the fun factor is far greater on a Maverick due to its set up. I am leaning toward a Commander. I plan on trying to take each for a ride first. I live in central Illinois but am retiring next month and will have time to travel. Thanks
