Clutch choices

Hello everybody.

I have some questions regarding clutch, and wonder which choises there are out there. Sorry about my bad english by the way, but hopefully most of you could understand my questions anyway.

I hava a 2010 Outlander max 800r xt-p, and everything on the quad is original. My primary clutch have seen its best days, so I`m gona buy me a new one. I`m gona use original sice tires 8×12 12, 10×12 12.

Mostly of my use is by different kind of roads, and some use in the woods, but mainly roads.

What is important to mee, is aceleration and top speed.

Could someone of the users give me some ideas about a new clutch, and the full setup of bouth clutches. Springs etc. You have to explain it all to me, because I`m new on everything.

Thank you from a novise from Norway.:yahoo:

Purchase decision HELP

Hey guys,
So I currently have a 07 outlander xt 800 and she has served me well but I’m upgrading and going for something newer.

Basically I rode a friends 2014 outlander 800 clutched with primary and secondary and WOW!
I can’t go back now! The power is awesome and my atv has to many miles to start dumping in a $1200 clutch in to blow out something that’s due. So that’s where I’m at.
I’ll either get a 14 or 15 or….. brand new which I hate doing because I have the cash and the hit on resale is very important to me.

So…
1. Renegade xxc 2015 vs 2016 (differences)
2. Renegade xxc 2016 850 vs 1000 (differences) is it not worth spending the extra on the 1000 since the 850 is closer in power now? Less weight and more power….
3. I’m also open to the outlander xtp but I’m not a fan of the construction orange / yellow they used. And that renegade digi camo has me hooked but the outlander with racks off I love more then the renegade look. And those fenders are key to staying dry and clean. Really no need for winch since everyone has one. And mine only worked for a few years before it just would get clogged up. I tried cleaning several times and would work for a ride or 2 then nothing.

So please help me figure this out!
I’m on quad hunter and classifieds and craigslist every day looking. Money is not to much of a big deal but resale value I do think about . I like getting a good deal and having the original buyer take the hit unless it’s new technology, then that’s different.

My buddy says his 800 clutched will eat up 1000s. And 1000 isn’t worth getting.
I’m thinking get a 1000 and clutch it !

We ride CT, New Hampshire, Maine and probably Hatfield this year. We ride fast when possible. It’s sometimes rough , Rocky. We trail blaze. We ride through mud, water and on roads and smooth trails. Inclines, declines, power lines….. We have winched up to higher ground to ride and dropped down a few feet into rivers… lol always an adventure . So you name it , we ride it

Thanks for reading guys!

side by side question

I’m 6’5" with very long legs. I’ve tried both the maverick and commander and my knees hit the dash of both. I prefer quads but my 5 year old wants to go with me and it’s hard to hold on to him and hit hard/fast trails. I really don’t want a Polaris but I do (barely) fit in a rzr. Any ideas? Why no love for a tall man?

Help me with cvtech please.

I got my cvtech in for the 800 xmr. It comes what I guess is stock with an 2 extra spring. The clutch is loaded with 2005 weights and 1017 spring. The extra springs they sent are 1021 and 1025.

I installed the clutch how it came with the 2005 weights and 1017 spring. It’s idleing in gear and still grabbing the belt. Causing the bike to surge forward and not stalling more then 1800 before it’s engaged.

Do I need different weights or change the spring to one of the others?
