Back to my picky clutch
I own a BRP Can Am Outlander 800 xt from 2006, some days ago it started to work wrong. I decided that I need to oil those elements and it will go, but hell no … I will attach the video how it works and I will tell you what I dont like.
The thing is that when it is cold clutch works fine, as it gets warm it stops to work as it need to, it moves the belt and the secondary clutch and when I try to change the gear it knocks and the atv starts to move by itself.
This is how it works now, from the begining it does it work good but in the end it starts to roll the belt and the secondary clutch
and here is how it was working one month ago.
Waiting for some advice.
PS I may be wrong about how it must work but I want to be sure
First Service
I just got a new renegade, after 10 hours of riding they want to do the first service.
Costs $250 to change fluids and tighten some nuts?
Is it worth it and does anyone do this themselves?

I’ve done some small mods.. Re did the rear aluminum foot rests so they are level (wife rides with me a lot) got a set of ricochet skid plates all anodized black which I’m actually still waiting on been a month now, brp 23gal storage box and the rear seat and best mod of all the yosh slip on exhaust!!
Now I’ve got 10 hours on the machine now just serviced everything myself of course. There is like 80 something miles on it and I’ve done some testing now this may be only the the R 1000s or at my elevation…
Yosh with spark arrestor for 20 miles – popped 3 times on hill decel pulled plugs look great! Mocha no red of pipes
Yosh without spark arrestor for 42 miles – popped 1 time plugs are same no change and also no red hot pipes.
These tests are done with variables in riding trails, wot, idling, however before pulling plugs I wot then kill it.
So for me and my case can’t say for all I really got to thinking the whole tuner debacle was probably started by someone who was making them and has now come a thing, because the small amount of proof that people have really does nothing for me could be all upstairs. Any fuel injected vehicles I have a 1700hp chevelle running megasquirt, will have a small auto adjust within the mapping itself to compensate for weather, dirty filters and so on. I would think can am would have done this? Many articles state the run lean per emissions but common myth has it most machines run rich from the factory? What gives like I said someone just wanting to make the almighty dollar in most cases. But as I’ve stated before its just my case! Be safe out there!

To max or not to max
Im looking at the Xtp in 850, maybe an 800 if I can find a deal on last years stuff. Im torn between the Max, or standard one up. I have a boy who will be riding with me a bit probably by end of summer and definatley next year, as hes too young now, and certianly for his own bike for a while. Theres also my wife who would like to come for tours and maybe some fishin.
Ill ride mostly logging and fire roads, some rough powerlines. I live in the mountians, pretty dry, alot of rocks and shale, sage brush fields, no boggin but theres some small holes of clay like muck I will hit. Going to ride year round, I hunt and Ice fish, snow shoe etc.
I know the max climbs better because of the long wheel base, tight technical turns shouldnt be an issue, high center maybe, the storage space would be great, i hear it handles mud and rough better but is a matter of opinion.
The single seems it may be a bit sportier, but I cant think of anything it can do the max cant, other that its well over 1000$$ cheaper.
What am I missing? Should I pony up for the max, or just go with the single?
I would reall like to hear from people who have both.
Cheers
