2016 1000r xt or 2016 xxc 1000

I have been given the green light on a new ATV :yahoo::yahoo: I currently own a 700 king quad and am thinking of joining the can am family. I am in central Florida ride Sandy trails and lots of mud will be installing rad relocate, snorkel kit, and some 29.5 outlaws. So I need help with should I buy the 2016 renegade 1000 xxc or the 2016 outlander xt 1000.

Slip on

I’m looking for a new slip on for a 2009 outlander. Currently have a muzzy, but I’d like to change things up a bit. Was looking into looney tuned, hmf swamp xl, and rjwc stumped on what to get. Just looking for some feedback!:aniwheeler6:

Motor Rebuild labor cost?

I had to rebuild a 800 motor for someone who ran it out of oil and destroyed the rod/crank bearings.
ATV was dropped off to me running with a knock and I was asked to tear it down and fix it. So I did just that. I gave him A list of what he needed and he bought the parts I did the labor.
Dealer said it would be $1800-$2000 in LABOR alone.
What would a fair price be to charge someone not at the dealer?

New Lincoln grease nozzle

Lubing the front U joint on my G1 Renegade has been impossible until I got a new Lincoln nozzle. It is the latest Lincoln 5803. It is different from the previous 5803 in that it has a rubber tip. The rubber tip conforms to the opening in the zerk and that forces more grease into the zerk and less grease will squirt out the edges of the nozzle. It is easier to use than a regular nozzle as long as the nozzle isn’t too long or too hard to see. With this nozzle you need a good view of the zerks ball so that you can center the nozzle.

For the A arm zerks I am getting one of these tomorrow.

No more fine tuning the coupler so that it snaps on but isn’t too hard to remove.

I attached a photo of it.

Hard start and reverse stalling after pcv install

Installed the Power Commander V last week. Ran fine until I went to load it up for our trip. Started up then sputtered and died, restarted it and it barely idled. Then finally picked up.

Got out on the trail last night had to back up cause I missed a turn. Started backing up, let off throttle and it died. Thought it was freak thing.

Well it’s now started up and not wanted to idle everytime. Then it finally starts to run fine.. every time I back up it will die if I goose it and let off.

What gives?

Who Needs Skid plates?

I ride on a lot of rocky mt trails but I’ve yet to bottom out on a rock. I just take as much time as is necessary to find a safe route through. If a trail looked to risky I would turn around. Even if I had a skid plate I wouldn’t risk hitting anything assuming the skid plate would prevent damage.

So, who needs skid plates? Are some trails impossible to navigate without bottoming out occasionally but the trail is worth it? Do some trails have surprise rocky sections that are just around blind corners? Do some people ride fast no matter how rocky it is? What do these trails look like? I’d love to see photos of some gnarly terrain.

I posted photos of the rockier places I ride. These shots don’t show anything that looks severe but occasionally I have to decide where to put my wheels.

From Honda and Yamaha to Can Am?

I have owned several Honda and Yamaha dirt bikes, 4 wheelers etc, all except one (Polaris RZR) was reliable and held their value well. I’m not going to go on and on about the reliability piece, but as someone very new to Can Am I’m curious for those who came to the other side are you glad you did? Differences you like or don’t? Anything that could aid me in making an informed decision. I’ve fallen in love with the new 650 or 850 Outlander and want to know what to expect from those who once owned the aforementioned brands….thanks in advance.
