Steering Shaft Nut Size?

Good Morning Everybody!

I was on the trail yesterday, and about a hundred yards before the end of the trail, I lost control of my 2004 Honda Rancher 350 4WD. It rolled onto it’s side, and when I flipped it back over the front wheels were pointing opposite ways. The nut on the steering shaft that holds the tire rod plate onto the shaft came off. I guess that’s what caused the quad to go out of control.

My question is this: What thread size is that nut? Can I just put a new nut and a cotter pin in it and expect it to fix it?

Thanks!

Paul

rear brake shoes stuck open 1986 200sx

first I haven’t seen anybody post this problem. I just bought the quads and got them home .I could tell it needed rear brakes! anyway I was pulling them in the garage and got on the throttle and had to stomp the rear foot brake it locked up and stayed that way! the pads are against the drum and I cant get the drum off! I tried hammering and prying the the cable keep that’s connected to the splind shaft that goes into the back of the drum ,it wont move! I was thinking I could hammer that shaft in as far as I can and maybe it will go past the shoes? and release them?? any help please?!

Recon rear suspension upgrade?

G’day folks,
I have a honda recon (12 months old) I use on the farm mostly and one of its main jobs is to be the weed spray mule. It carries me and the weeds pray unit. Probably asking a lot from the little quad as all up combined the weight needed to carry is 300-350 pounds.
As a result it sags in the back a fair amount. To be honest I believe it sags too much in the rear with just the rider (180 pounds).
So what can I do or where can I get a stiffer spring? Will one from any other honda fit? Aka; the latest rancher or foreman, etc….?

I’ve never really noticed this issue on a previous recon I used for the same job…

Thank you
Casey

Broken rear shock

I’ve been slamming this machine into snow for 10 years and it has done me right. This summer, on my first ever trail ride, the right swingarm pivot backed out and I ended up breaking the shock.

As it is really just used as a plow, what is a low cost replacement shock?

I guess I don’t really want to upgrade as then I’ll feel obligated to do the same up front.

Grooved shoes versus smooth

I ordered a set of EBC shoes for my trx200 on Amazon.com. i got them today. I bought smooth shoes, but i am curious about grooved shoes. It would be super easy to groove the friction material on the shoes, but I didn’t want to waste the time if it isn’t going to be for any benefit. Thoughts?
