Going to order highlifter spring kit wondering if I should replace the shocks also. I have added a rear seat and mostly ride with a passenger

I need some help here fellas. The rear shock on my 03 Recon is OK, but the spring is way weak and it darn near bottoms out when I sit on it. The quad has sort of a Cali lean when sitting on level ground instead of the proper slight forward rake also. Will a 300ex shock bolt on my Recon? I have come across a few threads that lead me to believe so, but I’d love some conformation or real world experience. I have also heard of folks using Rancher shocks? Not looking for a lot of lift, just a little and a stiffer spring.

I know, I could get a bigger quad and not have issues, but the Recon is what I own, it is all the machine I need, and I’ve taken it places the guys with the big quads couldn’t go simply due to how maneuverable it is. I also find it a blast to ride, and the 250 is darn near bulletproof with proper maintenance, which I give it. Even with my 6′ 275 lb carcass riding it, the thing never lacks power. It’s perfectly suited to how I ride, I just need to do something about the rear suspension.

i have a all balls ball joint kit… i pressed the old one out with a socket and the vice then took my BJ out of the freezer cleaned up the hole with some brake clean smeared some grease around it and proceeded to install the new one back in…
it started to go in with* the a socket over it in the vice but stopped so …..
i took it to my work and put the knuckle in a 20 ton press .
..it seemed to go in fine but wasnt in far enuf to put the snap ring on and it felt like it was loose in the hole i could litterly move it in and out …so after many failed attempts with press to get snap ring back in i tacked in with the mig so i could at least get this thing back together so i thought….now the tapered end will not go through the bottom control arm …its the right part number for the quad so i am out of ideas …im thinking about trying to heat the control arm to see if it expands enough to get back in ….PLEASE HELP!!!

I was wondering if any one that has done 01 raptor shock swap could tell me the difference between the white spring or the yellow I have found a few shocks on ebay just want to get the right one do to the fact I am a bigger guy. Also do I need the remote reservoir or can buy the one with the reservoir attached to the shock ? Many thanks in advance just trying to get my 300ex going

I’m trying replace the front shocks on my 1988 Fourtrax 300. I’ve already replaced the rear shock with a Progressive 512 and I’ve been happy with that. Does anyone know of a shock that will fit the front?
