I have been doing some searching and would really like to get my dad some decent tires for his 2000 Polaris sportsman 500 for fathers day. I don’t want to spend a ton. Budget is around $300-350. I am thinking I may have to buy fronts for fathers day and rears for Christmas based on what I have been finding.
I was hoping to find decent used ones or take offs but no luck.
What would be good for mostly rocky trails and some mud? Not a lot sand or heavy mud driving.
Interco has some new mud tires out called snipers.
Super aggressive mud tire for ATV or UTV
Huge 2 inch lugs (1.5 inch for AT sizes)
Light weight for it’s size
Embossed crosshairs Sniper logo
Available in 27, 29.5 or 35 inch tall sizes
Wheel sizes 12, 14, 15, 17 and 20 inch
Ok guys ive looked around and cant find any info so asking for opinions. Im tryin to choose between 28" moto mtc’s or cst wild thangs for my new 850 sportsman. I kno how the mtcs work for sand, mud, and trails cuz 3 of my family members have them on their 850s but i have no clue on the wild thangs so any info and opinions are appreciated!!! Thanks
I know this section is typically used for the full size quad tire questions and reviews, but I also know a few folks on here have the small Chinese quads for their kid(sI know this section is used for the full size quad tire questions and reviews, but I also know a few folks on here have the small Chinese quads for their kid(s), or someone who does, so I figured I’d put this up here. Last year we got my son a TaoTao 110 for his birthday. Unfortunately as good of a little quad as it is, the tires are one step up from from the plastic tires that come on power wheels. He tried riding one time last year in about 3" of snow and all it did was year the lawn up spinning like crazy. No traction. Then this spring where we ride the place has a kids only area and he found the clay-based mud. He got so stuck at one point, my wife used her quad to pull him out. So he asked for mud tires for his birthday. A quick internet search for 145/70-6 tires didn’t return much, so I got digging and found some Carlisle X-Trac snowblower tires in 15×5.00-6. They should fit perfect and the only reason he should get stuck now is from high centering!) so I figured I’d put this up here. Last year we got my son a TaoTao 110 for his birthday. I put a 3" lift on my daughters 06 500 sportsman x2
What I’m lookin at is a 27x10x12 on rear stock wheels
And 27x9x12 on front. Stock wheels.
My question is will those tires fit on her 4 wheeler with no clearance issues width wise. I know they will fit height wise just don’t want to order tires and have issues with being too wide?
I just replaced the tires on my 2013 500 sportsman with the same size as the ones as was on the quad since new…27x9x12 front and 27x12x12. Ran into issues with spacing on the front and got spacers. So I was just looking through specs for this machine and it calls for 25x8x12 and 25x10x12.
My question is why would my machine have the larger tires since new? I am now fearing that those tires are too heavy for the machine!
Well I was looking up info on wheels and weights, as I’m always paying attention to how much weight I add when putting parts on a machine. Well I found the weights on their rims and this is how they play out. The 212 series wheels are 9.9 lbs in a 12×7 wheel. In a 14×6 wheel the weight is 11lbs, and the 14 x8 wheel is 13 lbs. The Delta steel wheels are 14 lbs a wheel. The other ITP wheels are a pound or so heavier than the 212 wheels. The ITP Pro 9 spun aluminum wheels are around 7lbs a wheel. This info all came from ITP. Hope this info could anyone that is looking for info on weights of wheels. Next I’m going to look into the weights on the STI wheels.
