Maine weekend, and XP review

went up north this weekend and got to really stretch the legs on my quad since i put all the cool things on it this winter. we probably did about 350 miles in three days. lots of fun, lots of break downs from everyone. all i gotta say is WOW!

WOW amazing to the richochett shields, they took a severe beating.

WOW to the Blackwater tires, did not get stuck once and i only had to put it in 4 wheel drive one time. i will never buy another set of tires in my life!

WOW polaris is so cheap on their parts!!!!!! i had the rear lock and ride box snap off while i was riding. the lock and ride mounts stayed in the rack. but it pulled the two 10mm bolts right out of the side of the box. and it wasnt the inserts that came out. i now i have two 2 inch holes in the box.

and finally WOW piece of $hit to the gear shifter lever that stripped the splines out and i was stuck in low gear after the first day.

got some modding i have to do to it before i go back up there in three weeks!

all jacked up for our new private trails

Took wife/kids and some of daughters friends down to the land we got use of. Up to this point i was just going on buddies word it was okay to use the big lake for swimming/fishing since he talked to that sides new land owner and hes good with it. This surgeion bought the remaining 87acres that adjoins two of my buddies land and all he wants it for was enduro style riding.

So today while kids and wife played in the lake i seen on far side a vehicle matching the surgeions description so rode back to meet him and make introductions, get the jist of his plan and truely get an okay to ride the backside by the river to get to the lake (theres a 1 lane rd on the other 3 sides of it but we stayed off of that. Intro was great and i left him my number and told him next time he plans to come.down, call me and ill load up a couple quads and you can show and tell me what you want and ill make sure it gets done..so he calls me tonight all pumped at the trails by the river we made and said he wants me to make more but on the rest of the property lol.

So next week or two hes brining his brush hog down to mow down paths we have, and ill see what he wants cut and cleared off since he rides mx bikes "fast/ballz out" so i dont want to catch a tree. Lol, and he said he is perfectly okay with me trading sweat equity cutting and clearing to make a trail system throughout everything he owns….kinda sad i enjoy work like that but its a nice stress relief and gives me something to do, and ive always loved making trails so im just pumped to have access to 100acres to do as i please.

Sadly no real hills, but nice timber to ride thru, big private lake thats deep. Next yr plan to make a ramp to get my jon boat in to sonar the whole thing and if its all good bring the big boat down….so we should have our own little meca
Atv riding
Swimming/fishing
Camping
Boating- skiing and tubing
And all private, no mass population of general fools to make it dangerious and miserable.

Rockcrusher farms

Has anyone been to rockcrusher farms in North Carolina? If so how are the trails? I know that it’s short notice but I’m thinking about going up there this Saturday & just wanted to see how the trails are & if they are clearly marked. Also I know it’s not the best idea but if I go I will more than likely will be riding alone (yes I realize it’s crazy but it’s very few time that we all are able to get together & ride so I tend to ride a lot on my own & run into people along the trails) since all my buddies are busy so I was wondering if there is usually a lot of people riding that area to help you out just in case you need it. I plan on giving them a call tomorrow but just wanted some input from other riders about rockcrusher farm.

Just back from W.Va.

Checked in at Ashland ATV park WVa. on 7-2-15. Rained till we left on 7-5 but that was a good thing as there was no dust. The Sun came out for a little while everyday for and hour or two so it was not like nonstop.
We did a lot of the Hatfield-McCoy trails and found that this is good for people that want to pick a trail that has different difficulties according to the groups skill level. Also if you stay on the numbered trails of the Hatfield you will find your way home. Now we had friends there and for two days rode outlaw. Now these trails lead to a lot of wild places they might not be good for everyone. Found deep mud around Pinnacle creek and some bad Azz climbs. I was with two friend that got stuck in the mud and also on the side of one mountain rolled there machines. Lucky there were ok and the machines did not roll all the way down and they were able to ride them out. One machine got a one inch gash in the rear tire and lucky someone in the group had extra tire plugs and using three strips of plug were able to get it to hold air to get home. He bought a new tire in Bluefield for the next days ride. Carrie plugs and air compressors if you don’t want to leave your machine in the mountains. He got his flat by going to fast by the train tracks and we think it might have been a spike but there is also a lot of sharp rocks. Plain your ride ahead and ride your plan. As someone great said I will B back.
