XMR or XTP purchase?

I’m now buying a new Outty, but I’m not sure what to get. The trails where I ride are a little of everything, but I have fun in the mud and go looking for it when I can. I don’t mud bog race, but I’m not opposed to trying it. I don’t necessarily mind the extended chassis, and want something that is capable, but has a good ride (if it exists). I don’t care for the color of the new XTP, but I guess it can always be changed relatively inexpensively. I LOVE everything about the look of the XMR 1000, but don’t know if it’s too aggressive for what I’m looking for. I rode the 850 XMR at the dealers and it didn’t seem too big or to powerful for me (don’t need to kill myself popping a wheelie going uphill or something). So, just curious what size would fit my fat a $$? I know these are a lot of questions, so all commnts are greatly appriciated! :smilietwocents::th_smiliethumbsup:

2015 Outlander 500 max

I bought a 2015 can am outlander max 500 about 6 months ago I traded my 2014 grizzly 350 on it. I figured id throw out my review on the new machine

PROS

#1 The 500 Rotax engine is bullet proof more then enough power for I cant even Imagine the 1000’s power
#2 I have the 2 Up seating which is nice no more cramming my wife on the back you cant even notice shes back there and when she not on you could remove the seat and store it.
#3 It has the adjustable power steering setup but most of the time i keep it min because im the most comfortable in that setting.
#4 Gas mileage is great !!!! I could ride 7 hours easy all day on one tankof gas
#3 I love the plastic rack system much better then the powder coat junk metal ones that bend and rust
#6 the independant suspension is great and the overall 13 inch clearance underneath is good also
#7 Low gear is great for saving the belt especially with a passenger and the extra weight I only use high over 20mph.
#8 The High intensity high and low beams are really nice at night on my grizzly i had to use a 10inch led bar for a night i dont even need that now
#9 Love the extra plastic around the motor and front suspention keeps all the dirt out and makes it real easy to clean after every ride.

CONS
#1 Factory tires are GARBAGE I switched to Maxxis Zillas after I got 2 flats in 2 months the factory carlisles are junk and 2 soft every little thing slits them open and im a controled rider
#2 Drive train whine (which is normal) takes time to get used sounds like a turbo
#3 The Can Am clunk as we all know about it when leaving off and hitting the throttle, when the helix engages. called the dealer the first hour i rode got me a little worried but i learned how to feather the throttle dont hear it as much.
#4 the rear 2 up seat rubs the main seat when you remove it youll see a dull spot on each side. bought a nice after market gel seat cover for more comfort and to protect the main seat.
#5 changing the oil is a bitch you have to remove all the side plastics and the seat everytime the foot stand has to be removed also and is snapped into the front and rear fenders and is a complete utter bitch, i just have the dealer do it anymore.
#6 the MAX is longer then a regular quad which makes it hard to go some places i used to but its worth it for the extra seat and no crowding

I love the machine i have 500 miles and around 38 hours on it got its first service everything was good in the break in miles. I also bought the Can Am black hard plastic plow which is awesome for snow. needs to go in at 100 hours for the next service oil change and greasing of all the fittings. My yamaha grizzly 350 was a good little machine and even plowed nice i had no complaints but when i got on the can am it was like going from a pinto to corvette I love the machine.

2001 Bombardier Quest

Hello there,

I am looking at purchasing a 2001 Bombardier Quest, and was wondering if anyone here had some reviews on it?

From what I have discovered, you either love it or hate it and some of the models are plagued with engine issues.

Any help is appreciated.

Outlander L 450

I’ve got a few questions on the machine on whether or not it will suit my needs. I ride on the river during winter, and may use it for plowing. I also go on trails which are sandy, rocky and some parts are muddy. Hows the bottom-mid pull compared to the v-twin 500 and what aftermarkets should be the first to be added.
