help with seals

Hey guys,

I’m in the process of overhauling a 1988 Trail Boss 4X4 and am working on the front end. I have to replace a bearing or two which are easy to identify – they have a Timken number stamped on them… What I’m having trouble finding are the seals that go between the front strut and axle shaft as well as the seal that is on the inside of the hub. Mine are completely shot, ripped, disintegrated, you get the picture. Can anyone point me to a source of supply? How ’bout a part number?

Thanks in advance…

adjust oil injector 95 trailboss

Hi I was doing some work on ATV and had to disconnect the oil intector cable. Its a 95 trailboss 250. I am trying to adjust the cable with the marks on the injector. I think it is middle mark of the 3 that its supposed to line up with at idle but I am not sure. I attach a picture. Let me know what you think would be appreciated thanks.

Wobbling wheel

We just bought a used 2005 sportsman 500 with 7000 miles on it. We noticed the front right wheel had a visually obvious wobble to it riding it around the shop on concrete. We jacked it up and that wheel was very difficult to turn by hand and still had the noticeable wobble. You could move it slightly back and forth such that you could feel it but not see it. We pulled off the wheel and when we spun the hub the rotor was catching the pads every revolution as it wobbled. After we pulled the caliper, it spun freely. We removed the rotor also and it is not warped. We went ahead and pulled the hub and replaced the bearings. We put it all back together and there was no difference. I swapped the hub wheel and tire to other side and the problem stayed at front right. I don’t know anything about front ends but don’t mind trying to figure it out. I just get the feeling that it is going to get more expensive as I go and this thing already has 7k miles on it. What is next step to check?

I did try to search around a little before posting but the vast majority of answers seem to focus on balance or bearings.

850 sportsman fan circuit breaker?

All right every where I’ve searched to solve my problem. (limp mode with over heating light). Seems to point to a circuit breaker for the fan. Where in the heck is it at on a 2014 850 sportsman xp eps…. I’ve seen pictures on line and it seems to be attached to the wiring harness under the front cover by the battery. NOT MINE. I can’t locate it anywhere. This things driving me nuts. It’s hit or miss sometimes with in the 1st 2 miles normal riding sometimes after half a day sometimes not at all. I used to could undo battery for 10 minutes and it would clear out for the day. Last time would come back every 20 to 30 minutes limped back to the truck. Yes the radiators clean. Please help Trying to ride tomorrow and can’t trust it.:unknw:

atv battery wont charge

So my atv battery charges fine like but the atv cant charge it fast enough as it should be i get the indicator its a 2003 polaris sportsman 600 twin the battery is fine like 13V its putting out or whatever but on the positive side of the wires going to the battery it doesnt have a crimp its just the little metal things poking onto it and pressed down would a crimp help the battery charge like it should or does it not need to be fully connected on the positive side of the battery? im frustrated cuz every few days the fourhweeler stops starting and i gotta charge the battery pisses me off cuz then i cant ride but like would i need a crimp for the positive side to connect to the battery or what could the problem be possibly?

extremely low compression

I am wondering if my cheap Harbor Freight compression tester is no good. I just bought a 2002 Scrambler 90 and tested the compression. It reads 40 psi but starts and runs just fine with a lot of pep. I tested my wife’s 2000 Scrambler 400 two stroke and it reads 95 psi with no trouble starting and running. Just for the heck of it I tested my weed wacker and it reads 25 psi with no starting or running issues. Do I have a bad tester?? With readings that low they shouldn’t even run, right? What do you guys think?

Wheel/Driveshaft Issue?

Hey guys, so for awhile now I’ve noticed the front left tire on my ’14 Polaris Sportsman 400 slowly moving inwards towards the metal piece that connects the tire to the wheeler (is it called a hubstrut?). I took the hubcap off and tightened the bolt after removing the cotter pin, but it still is rubbing. If we jack the wheeler up and move the tire around, it wobbles. A friend of mine told me that it may be due to something that connects the driveshaft to the tire, and I have no idea what that part may be. If anyone has had any issues like this, could you help me out? I realize I may have to take it to a mechanic, but I would like to assess perhaps how much it will cost. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
