My front end keeps engaging on my 400 explorer making it pull to the right or the left depending on which hub engages. Usually happens after I back up and then go forward again. If I back up and go forward again a couple times it will usually disengage and then I can drive it no problem until the next time it happens. I have it in 4×4 all the time and I have over ridden the reverse over ride so it is in 4×4 in reverse all the time also. I called the shop and the mechanic there says I can’t have it in 4×4 all the time because the electromagnets will magnetize the hub and then strange things will start to happen, like what I am experiencing. He also says that some of the parts for the hub and hilliard clutch on an ATV as old as mine are no longer available. Not sure what I should do. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned everything, then put it all back together with new oil. No change. The reason I had to over ride the reverse over ride is because I bought it without a head light or speedometer so the wiring was disconnected. Basically what I did was send power to the hubs all the time so they are engaged all the time. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks! Polat.

My 05 sportsman 800 front tires are leaning in on the top. Do I need new
struts? All bushings and bearings are new or in great condition. Any help
would be appreciated.

Hiya folks.
I have an older Ranger 500 (2005) that is not getting a spark. Using the electrical tester, the coil reads OK on both leads and between the coil and the plug wire end. The cap reads ok too. But when the cap is on the wire there’s no reading. Before I plop down money on a new cap, is there something I can do to get a better connection between cap and wire?
after riding a while 30 minutes or so I turn it off and when I press the button to start it back there nothing no Nuteral light or turn over of the starter , I wait a few minutes and it will start then acts like its not getting enough gas till you go a few feet , do you guy’s have any idea what is causing this
I currently have a 99 Scrambler 400 4×4. The guy I purchased it from said he put a 60 over piston and rings on it but I have not taken the top end off to verify this. I am having a couple problems. 1) Starts up good and idles fine, hit the gas to move and it wants to die. pump the throttle to get it moving and it will runs good. It just bogs on take off. Any Ideas? 2) He said he was running Klotz in it non stop at 40:1. I have been doing the same and it smokes bad. I have had 2 strokes before and know they smoke some but this seems a little excessive. Should I try a different oil? any suggestions would be helpful!!! Thanks
02 sportsman 500 ho…. has run great for 7 years. last year it started to sputter and bogg down and cut out but only when going up steep hills all other times runs perfect..so changed sparked plug and fuel pump and took it out and it does the same thing..so this year replaced belt and air filter and took it out and it still does the same thing so I removed the airbox cover and went up the same steep hill and the machine has so much more power with the airbox cover off and does not cut out at all this is how it use to run before the problem started…Im lost on what the problem is because it ran fine for years and just started this out of the blue..baffled why it runs so good without the airbox cover on..could there be a fuel flow issue and the added air without the cover on increases the fuel flow???..i want to be clear I have not change modified anything before this problem started >>>Please help
New to these Atv’s, now I need a little help. I just got a Battery Tender, and want to hook it up to the machine. How do I get the Battery out, I know stupid question but non the less its a real one.
After looking for it for about 10 minutes located it got the cover off, but don’t know how to get it out of the casing so I can clean the contacts and hook the Tender to it.
Another question I use it to plow snow, and when I go to lift the blade I have to hit the in switch some times 3-4 times before it will engage. What do I look for here, and what is the remedy? I know contacts have to be clean and that is what I want to do as part of the service, need some advice.
