Newbie here. Hello all! I’ve got a 2000 Magnum 325 4×4 that has been in barn for far too long. Life gets in the way sometimes. Anyway, my kiddos and I started working on it yesterday. Plan of attack is fuel system, oil service and battery. What’s best way to clean inside of gas tank? Gonna change out all fuel lines and inline filter. What about the fuel pump, is it safe to run carb cleaner through it? There’s a lot of stuff to remove to get to carb (lol).
Posted this also in Magnum section but doesn’t look like much activity there.

Bought this quad around 2006 when I was wrenching at the local dealer. Came in as a trade from an older farmer high mileage and hours but in very good shape overall. Currently has sat for last 5 years as it overheated real bad and started to knock. Here’s a few pics and will update as I go about rebuilding the engine. Well in the spirit of 1 step forward and 2 backward….. Yesterday, I got around to rebuilding the rear master cylinder on my 06 450 Sportsman. This machine has been sort of a project as I purchased it over a year ago, low hours but plenty of neglect and it needed quite a few repairs. The rear emergency brake never worked and the master was leaking fluid. Got the master all set and re-installed, went to bleed at the caliper…no problem, got all the air out but the nipple would not tighten. Removed it completely and pieces of aluminum thread came out with it. I know they make nipple repair kits for cars and Harley’s. My first thought is to use a heli coil. does anyone know the nipple thread? Looks like 1/4-28.. Any advise would be appreciated as I really hate to buy a new caliper as they are at least $175.00.
Someone stole my key to the factory ignition ..so i ordered another ignition online and when i first connected it i just turned the key on to see if it would work and it turned over but i let go before the bike could start….so i finished putting the ignition into place and put the cover back on. …i tried to start the bike after installing it completely and now nothing. …no power at all. …what could of happen? Fuse bblew?
I am new to this site and I hope someone can help me. 3 weeks ago my xplorer 400L 4×4 was running fine and reached speeds about 54 mph no problem. I bought it a little over a year ago. It had a brand new fan installed but I was told I need to replace the temp sensor. The previous owner had the original fan wired to run full time. While riding 3 weeks ago I noticed the fan came on and a few miles down the road the temp light came on. I pulled over and shut her down. Apparently there is another sensor. It appeared the water pump went out.
I brought it to a dealer where they replaced the pump and wired the fan to stay on full time. I also had them install a new winch while it was in there.
As soon as I got back on the trail I noticed she bogged down. It idles fine and does decent up to 15 mph (It runs like a two cylinder sled with one fouled plug). It also appears the battery is being drained as well. I disconnected the winch thinking it was drawing too much but that didn’t help. I also changed the plug. Any suggestions?
I’m a 2stroke mech so not completely dumb. This is my first running wheeler. Just got it with 1700miles and 200hrs. Fresh gas (non-ethanol). Didn’t ride it a ton before I bought it b/c the price was great and another buyer was waiting in the wings.
It starts and idles just fine. Accelerates just fine until you push past 1/2 throttle. It immediately cuts out and wants to die. Let off and it’s fine. Guessing it’s starving for fuel, maybe? Assuming this only has 1 throttle needle and a regular float and bowl system…
Also my wrench symbol blinks 10x at me. Is that related or something different?
I am working on my Polaris Home Made Buggy again. Originally a 1998 Sportman 400. This time, it is the wiring harness. I am somewhat familiar with vehicle wiring harnesses but I am having trouble identifying the basic ignition parts on the buggy and how they need to be wired.
Does anyone have a super basic diagram of the Polaris Ignition components?
What does the Polaris need to run. I can find the Coil, Starter, Starter Solenoid, CDI (i think).
What do the charge coils look like? Where and What is the regulator?
Recently got snorkeled 2014 850xp anyway it recently started acting up when I give it throttle it takes 3 or 4 seconds before it revs up an i feel the power I was pushing through when now it won’t Rev up past a limit I can’t go more than like 20mph wat could it be I’ve seen a forum similar to this talking about bad spark plugs or them fouling out I took mine out an took a pic wat do yal thinkAttachment 26030
