I have a 00 Polaris magnum 325 4×4. I am on our annual camping trip about 25 miles on the mountain. I had to pull start my atv today but didn’t think much of it because I haven’t ridden it in a while. About 10 miles in it still wouldn’t crank then Tonight I noticed my lights were very dim. My battery is showing 8 volts when off. When running i am showing like 4 volts. I pulled the red wire off of my voltage regulator and it show 12v while running, when I rev it up it goes beyond what the meter will read. Whats is the best was to tell if it’s the stator or regulator. If it’s the regulator I can have a buddy bring one in tomorrow night but if it’s the stator I guess I will have to charge my battery off of another at then limp back to the truck. I have very limited cell service, I tried to search but i cannot get service at camp so its kind of a pain to run back and fourth. Thanks in advanced
I have a weird issue with my 05 sportsman. Somebody but a car battery in the back storage compartment. Decided to put a battery in the regular spot. When I put power to it the fan comes on without me having the key on. Also when I try and crank it over the starter spins but turn the engine over. So weird but anyways the red battery cable is ground and the black is power. Quad turns over fine with it that way but when you take one of the battery cables off, the whole quad shuts down. Also where the battery is supposed to go was a starter solenoid. I was wondering if having the battery cables backwards is a bad thing? Or have any of you guys seen something like this?

changed fuel pump for a cater , pressure with pressure gauge constant abt 39 pounds motor running
but engine is cold , starts ok rpm abt 1100, but when i increase throttle to abt 2500 to 3000 rpm it tends to bog down , and recovers at about 3500 rpm
when notmal temp attained seems ok and throttle respond well enough
Hi everyone. I posted the information below in the Sportsman group, but I think it might be better suited here.
Hello All. I have a question I have not been able to answer by searching the forum.
My quad was running fine when I put when I put it in the Toy Hauler a couple months ago. Yesterday I went to pull it outside and the battery was dead so I threw the charger on it. The battery is shot but with the charger on jump start the Speedo will turn on, but I do not hear the fuel pump and the check engine light is on. The starter will not engage. I checked battery voltage and it is good, so I am at a loss where to start looking.
I have tried to check the check engine light by turning the key off to on three times quickly and it does not work. Is this the correct way to check the codes?
I have checked the 4 fuses and the starter does work when directly jumped. Any one have any suggestions of where to start looking?
