700Twin Exhaust manifold

I have a crack in the manifold,

Im going to remove it to weld it back up and replace the gasket..

How , did they get those two center bolts in!!!

Better yet how is anybody supposed to get the bugger’s out!!!

Sportsman etx won’t start

I went to start my atv yesterday and it wouldn’t… So I charged it and the battery works with my strobe lights I have installed but other than that it won’t give the atv and power on the display. I left it in my truck over night and it was 90 degrees out and then when I went to take it out after work there was a liquid that was on my rubber floor mats. Don’t know what it was but it kind of smelled like a faint vinegar. But keep in mind the strobes still work some how. Any help will be great. Thanks in advance

Ball Joint Question..

At Mud nationals I bought and installed an EPI heavy duty lower ball joint. Now the other side also needs replacement, is it ok to purchase a different brand (have a gift card to Motosport.com), or should I just buy the same one from EPI so they match, OR one from someone else like all balls?

Polaris hawkeye 300 no spark

I’m about to pull my hair out.

I’ve replaced the cdi, pickup coil, the flywheel. Theres some voltage coming off the pickup coil but none coming out of the cdi. I have the service manual for the vehicle and it says I should have a min of .15 volts ac coming out the pickup coil. I have between .3 and .4 so I think that’s good. It also says I’m supposed to get a minimum of 5 volts dc out of it but I’m not getting any. What could my problem be?? I don’t even think the cdi is getting enough of a signal from the pickup coil to trigger the spark.

shifting problem

Hi everyone!, I own a 2011 sportsman 850 Touring.

I took a nice long ride with my little 10ft boat about 15miles in the bush away from the truck, I launched the boat in a creek, shut down the bike and went fishing for about 6hrs.

I returned and loaded up to go, started up the bike. I was unable to shift out of park. The shifter seems stuck, I reefed on it pretty good but didnt want to snap it,
it has a slight amount of give where it’ll "tick" but it wont go any more to actually engage any gears.

I removed the plastics and tried to shift the bike manually right where the shifter mechanism goes into the tranny.
no luck.,

so I had a nice long walk home, and left my bike and boat in the bush for the night.

Any ideas what this is? and also, how to shift the bike to at least tow it, or possibly drive it out of there? any help is greatly appreaciated!

Sportsman 500 HO problem

2010 Sportsman 500 HO carbureted . Bought new in 2010 now has 135 hours on it. Ran great until about 125 hours then it started bogging and running poorly above 3500rpm when warmed up. The warmer it gets the worse it runs. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, spark plug, adjusted valves, checked compression, and replaced the black rubber tube from air box to the carb. Here in lies the problem. If I remove the air box and black rubber tube it runs perfectly and screams to 6500 rpm. If I slide just the black tube, no air box or filter over the end of the carb it immediately starts spitting and sputtering when I give it any throttle. Remove tube it runs great. The tube is new and not cracked or collapsing. The tube is big enough inside to almost insert my fist yet the machine will not rev if I install the tube. Anyone else have this problem?
