Stuck in 4WD

I have a 2005 Sportsman 500 that is stuck in 4WD. I took out the front differential, disassembled it on the work bench, but cannot see anything wrong with it. Roll cage looks OK with no cracks and no broken springs. Oil was a little dirty with some metal dust on the drain plug magnet, but not much. Only thing I found that seemed out of the ordinary was that 1/2" metal doll pin was covered with some type of dried out white glue, or caulk, or corrosion when I took it out. Not sure that white stuff was supposed to be there, but I cleaned all of it off. Could that be why it was stuck in 4WD? If not, what else should I be looking for? Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Thank you

2004 Sportsman 700 will not idle

I just bought a 2004 Sportsman 700 (non EFI). It runs good, but when I got it home, the idle was way too low. The throttle cable was very tight, so I put the correct amount of slack in it, and now it will not idle at all.

Oddly, there seems to be no idle screw on the carburetor. The manual shows where it should be, as well as a few searches I did online. Mine does not have one.

I am going to take the carb off tomorrow and clean it, but I am curious as to where the idle screw is, or went.

This quad has a lot of miles, and I knew going in it would need some TLC to get it where I wanted it to be. It does run good once under way, but I suspect the previous owner set the idle by cranking down the thumb throttle with the cable.

There is also a hose hanging down by the carb, and I could swear it feels like it has vacuum.

Suggestions beyond cleaning the carb.

2006 polaris sportsman elctrical issues

Hello,

I have a 2006 polaris sportsman 500ho carb. I started having issues about a week ago when it seemed like the battery was dead. I started using the pull start until i could get a battery. Than the recoil reel broke so i ordered the parts and went and bought a battery. I put the battery in and the machine fired up. I than shut it off and it started doing the same thing where it would click once and not turn over. So i took the battery off and tested it and it was good. than i put it back in and now the fan is running when the machine is off and the dash isnt working. I dont know what it could be please help!!

Sportsman 450 power loss at full throtle

I have a 2006 Sportsman 450 4×4. I purchased it used about a month ago. The engine seems to choke out at about 5000 rpm and it loses power climbing sand hills. I had a full service performed including rebuilding the carb, one thing they found was that the carb had the wrong rebuild kit in it. After all of this work it still bogs down on hills and at about 5000 rpm. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,

2015 Hose fell off

i have a brand new 2015 Sportsman touring 570 and on its first day out on the trails we noticed a clear plastic hose hanging from under it. eventually it fell off and i found it.
the only place i can locate that it might go is on the right side of the engine on the lower cover where i think the starter is located behind.
i cannot fond any plastic hose clamps or keepers that may have been holding it. and i am not sure if the brass nipple at the bottom of this cover is where it attaches or not.
can anyone help me locate a home for this part?
thanks!
