I need help on a problem

Sorry but I kinda need a fast help. I am having family over for a ride through VT and I developed a problem.
I have a 2010 550 sportsman EFI and electric steering. It was riding great, stopped put it in Neutral, idled fine. put in gear and it started to load up and backfire, got it back in Neutral and it cleared up. put it in gear and it backfired and bucked.
so it runs ok in park and runs like dirt in gear. even if it is in gear and Idling it runs like dirt.
So I am thinking could it be the switch on the tranny? does this switch tell the computer to do something to the timing or injectors?
I am kinda desperate for help.

Trying to fill a battery

Need help. Battery comes with a 2" length of tubing and I’m supposed to use this to put acid in the battery, safely, The brochure shows a generous length of tubing in the illustrations. I’ve tried twice to fill one cell yet I can’t see any fluid either in the top or from the side. This is really p…..ing me off.

Is my CV joint finished ?

So say 3 weeks ago, I tore my CV boot(smaller then a dime), but replaced it with a universal boot from Royal Distributing before shtf as I’ve done that once before.
I’ve been riding for the past 3 weeks with no problems, but after a 80km road ride, with some water at the end of it, I noticed my boot slipped off and there was no grease in the boot. Not sure as to how long it’s been off, but couldn’t see any mud as I was in the lake a little bit.

Providing there isn’t any clicking, or visible damage, would it be okay to clean it out, refill with grease, and reclamp ? The clamp they provided was the shits, so I’ll be looking for something a bit better.

2000 sportsman 335 electric starting problem

I bought a 2000 sportsman 335 and almost have everything back to perfect working order, but the only thing I cannot figure out is the electric starter issue. The key is turned to on and the handlebar kill switch is in the run position and you pull the pull cord and the thing fires right up perfectly. Turn it off, and try using the electric starter by pushing up on the handlebar switch, and the starter turns the engine over very quick but doesn’t start. When the engine is warm, it will start using the electric starter. It only starts running immediately after you stop engaging the starter. It acts like the ignition turns off when you apply voltage to the starter solenoid. I have replaced the starter switch on the handlebar with the exact same one off my magnum, and the one off the sportsman worked perfected on the magnum, and sportsman still had the starting problem. Has anybody else had this issue?

Hot weather issues

Hi guys. New to the forum here. I’ve done some searching around online and not coming up with any solutions for my issue. I have a 94 250 trail boss. Picked it up last winter from a kid that was having issues with spark plugs fouling and didn’t want to mess with it anymore. After winter was over, I replaced the carb guts and, after some minor carb adjustments, it ran fine. And it still runs fine unless the outside temp is above about 85-90 degrees. When we hit that temp, the quad runs fine for about 5-10 minutes but then gradually begins to lose all power, mainly low end power. If going uphill or through brush (anything that needs some extra umph) it will just bog down and pour exhaust out like crazy. It doesn’t die, just bogs so bad it won’t move. Again, this is only when the weather is hot. Any ideas??
